See, this is where you can see BSJ is a great coach: When he identifies that the trainee (playing mid) clearly has watched a lot of Dota, but hasn't played so much, so isn't used to the mechanics/importance of buying items quickly. That just shows you how incredible his holistic perception of the game is. Keep it going man 👏🏾

This guy's biggest lane issue was the Hoodwink hugging the lane. Within the first 3 minutes, they're all the way up on the enemy tower. Meanwhile, the hood is sapping XP. Sure, he was getting CS, but then Pudge got the hook into his tower and forced the TP out. All that CS lost over just that. Now you'll get a fat hoodwink support who will probably try to carry when they should be supporting.
@bulbasaurboy9893
@bulbasaurboy9893 3 жыл бұрын
You can't expect the support to stay out of the lane at such a low MMR. As BSJ said, the only thing you need to climb out of herald is good CS. Support hogging exp will become a problem only after 3k MMR I reckon.
@eboyce24
@eboyce24 3 жыл бұрын
I remember playing support at low mmr and my objective for the first 5-7 minutes was DO NOT LET YOUR CARRY FEED. When you get a guy who lasthits and has game sense probably 2k above his mmr, it doesn't work out as well but sometimes the instant you leave is the instant the am/pudge smacks him around and suddenly you have a tiny that has tp'ed back to base 4-5 times and is griefing you about leaving him alone and is level 4 at 8 minutes instead of 6. Nahmean? That's some 500mmr support meta for you when you haven't played for several years.

if you cant have fun in trying hard in Dota, then youre not playing the game correctly. Pubs arent fun 3k below, you start having fun 4k above since most players know the basics and you dont have random 900mmr idiots building battlefury on skywrath mage. @justinroy3769
@justinroy3769 3 жыл бұрын
@@polygon166 ahh. well about the smurf problem tho id recommend not thinking that way. herald smurf ar most likely 3k below because no person with decent mmr like lets say 4.5-5K would smurf on HERALD, i mean that bracket has players griefing their own teams so yeah most of them would probably smurf at crusader or smth. TLDR: smurfs in herald arent even that good tbh. This is just my opinion tho but I like smurfs, I learned from them by watching my replays and thats how I gained mmr... I also watch bsj ofc. Its going to be a stomp a couple times but instead of complaing "ugh these smurfs are holding me back from advancing" you can just learn from them really, find out how they stomp. Because honestly dude smurfs arent your problem, its mentality. The reason smurfs exist in the herald bracket is because they know people will just get tilted and never learn therefore keeping the game easy for them. But after a couple months I was giving smurfs a hard time, they couldnt do their usual shit since thay had to actually play. And let me tell you when you give them a hard time and prevent them from doing what they want they will return to being that toxic player that they are in their main bracket. Theyll start complaining about their team, make mistakes and bad decisions. So please stop with the smurf complain, the only reason people complain is because they dont want to try. Honestly i find it better to be agaisnt a smurf since its literally a player thast better than the rest of us in the pub meaning i can LEARN smth from that game VS playing with all heralds and learning NOTHING since all of us are shit, get it??

in a pub never rely on your teammates because they are not your teammates. Once there is some sort of communication then they become your teammates. so if they don't speak or you don't speak then you are not technically teammates - you just happened to play the same match on the same side

@paulfenix9
@paulfenix9 3 жыл бұрын
honest answer, immortal player here, you should only start relying in your team when u reach mid/highish divine. I'm not saying this because it's just what I think: when I was legend/ancient, I figured that the way my winrate started increasing was when I played more selfishly and made sure I stomp my lane and keep snowballing, instead of focusing on my teammates and harming my own play just to let them have a better game. But if you are goin down the route I'm telling you, you should also make sure to pick appropriate heroes, that can scale and have very big impact in midgame. Once you then reach high divine/immortal you will start noticing you will be more punished for selfish plays and that you can/should also rely more on your teammates, but until then, forget it.

The problem with Herald and Guardian is, it's not enough to be slightly better, because you can't compensate for the lack of skills or griefing (etc.) of your team mates. You have to be way above the Herald level, to play so good that you most likely stomp the game yourself! And you can't do that with any hero, especially the ones who are dependent on good supports or team synergy. But here is the problem! If everyone wants to improve to get out of the lower bracket, no one will! That's the law of gravity.

Thing about Herald is that your team will flame you and mald when you farm as a carry. Or push the enemy jungle/towers on offlane. I've found the game is lost on the social side when the game knowledge is nonexistent. The most toxic players will decide the winning team.

When I found this channel I was 10mmr and thinking I knew something. I'm fast climbing, already 400mmr. EVERYONE still like to go JG and farm with me, the HC, but I still manage to solo carry most of the matchs. I love offlane but my HC is 200 GPM so I have to be the HC. If I try to ask my team to do something there's a 40% they'll try and fail and 60% they'll tell me to fuck off cuz this is not the W.cup. It's as BSJ said: don't base your game in your team actions. 30% of the matchs I play with a friend who isn't a genius nor is studying dota but follow my calls and learn from my ever improving knowledge. Playing with him is almost granted free win. We have a saying in Brazil about "swallowing your tears and doing it" and that's what I'm doing. Who cares if my two sups are farming both sides of the JG for the whole game?

I would say that 99% of trench players are casual players that play 1 or 2 games a day. I am one of those (in the 3-4k trench for years). This is a factor most coaches are not considering when talking about getting out of the hole. Let's be real, considering that 99.99% of players have a 52% winrate, it is impossible to get out of the trench unless you play more games a day. And sometimes you invest some time to it and fo in a lose streak kekw.
@etofok
@etofok 3 жыл бұрын
if your plays are 3k mmr then your mmr will stale at 3k it's as simple as that. you can play 2 games a week at 9k and never drop because you are in fact a 9k player. and such player will never have the 52% wr in 3k

hey brother , really appreciate what you have done in this video absolutely amazing the way you explained and that but is not jut that , no matter how much you trying to explain this fact and all the ways we should start and play on a ranked game in won't change at all believe me ... i just keep trying to get out of the herald zone and i cannot no matter how much i would try and 9 out of 10 times is not my fault i mean not my fault at all , my last 15 games i probably have like 6 or 7 wins or my last 20 games i have 6 or 7 wins all of them me MVP , wont matter what i play , support ,carry , offlaner ,hard support ,safe lane mid .. it just don't matter . And i come here because i wanted to say it over this content because u look professional in what you do and you know what means this game . The matchmaking sucks i mean it sucks so bad that it won't allow you to get out of the herald zone , i do understand the fact that the matchmaking should try to make it harder for u to climb into the division and offer you opponents of your samelevel or a bit stronger as a challenge but it just not that mate . The amount of stupid people that i get in my teams 8 out of 10 games is just so devastating , i can`t get rid of them in any way as much as i am trying . If you choose to report or avoid them the matchmaking it will give you even worst . i mean i tried , probably over my last 50 games i avoided like 60-70 players and report about same amount. I mean my skill is way of the top of the herald and crusader and probably anchor too and when i say it i mean it but the fact that i play only solo mmr it wont happen for me to actually achieve my real skill level and thats a dota 2 matchmaking fault and all the noobs who are playing this game without actually thinking they ruin other players game , they just don`t care. And i don't understand why the fuckers are playing ranked if they don`t know play properly ? i mean i am so sure a lot of the ones they have commented in this video section they are such a bad level of players that instead of taking information and watch how to play a hero and use the normal matches for like 20-30 times before you engaging with that hero into a ranked game ,because i have to say noobs like this like this Shit and trash players are the one that are destroying every single game in his way because they dont understand the perspective of a competitive game and that you actually need to join that game in order for you to play a tactic or teamplay . The game is not solo for you to just play by urself and trying to show your best .. !!! so much to say about this , i could write a BOOK . We need a solution about this . ! !!

I wish I could get a BSJ coaching session. I feel like I could show him you can play a 3k game in the first 10 minutes and still lose a lot in this rank. I can imagine how many people may feel the same way but the Peruvians, toxic people, throwers, Smurf’s are all more detrimental to the game than playing 2-3k above your current rank. Just my opinion

the problem with the trench is that once you got good score a few games then the matchmaking system will match u agaisnt smurfs team while you are matched with legit herald player then you gonna win lose win lose win lose and you just stuck there unless you are high level pro player you probably can escape other wise only a few rank up you can get. i got more than 20 kills and less than 5 deaths then the next game im with legit herald agaisnt smurfs team always happen

Only pro supports SPAM spells off cd and always regen. Maybe in ur bracket people hold off on their spells even with full mana lmao give me a break. In my bracket 4k u should get stick against maybe 10+ heroes. Veno... bristle.. batrider.. zeus... even linas who spam their q and w, much much more heroes who spam their spells.. shadow demon.. sky... come on dude

At 39:00 why would BSJ want him to buy glove over belt on Tiny? Wouldn't the health and damage from belt help CS more than the attack speed from glove?
@KenshiroPlayDotA
@KenshiroPlayDotA 3 жыл бұрын
Maybe BSJ mispoke and wanted to say belt. But Gloves of Haste at level 5 on Tiny also makes sense ; at that point, the laning stage may start to break, so it's not just about having more damage than your opponent, but it's also about farming the jungle quickly. Tiny has a base attack speed of 90, compared to 100 for normal heroes, and on top of that, he literally got an Agility growth of 0, so his attack speed stays at 90 even at level 30. Getting Gloves of Haste would be a tremendous DPS boost for jungling.

Honestly, not everyone in herald is as bad as BSJ thinks. When im a support i pull camps and even do side pulls...and so do some other supports. I think the skill cap has changed a lot over the past few years and there are less brand new players. Am I wrong?
@CharroArgentino
@CharroArgentino 2 жыл бұрын
People have a lot more knowledge nowadays than before for sure, and you can say the skill cap and floor is higher, but the thing is low mmr players still lack the fundamentals of the game just like everyone did back in the day, just knowing what pulling and creep aggro is doesn't mean anything. I see my low rank friends do them all the time, but they don't know WHY they're doing it, their knowledge stops at simply doing it. Pulling creeps help reset creep equilibrium, yes, everyone knows that, but it can also be used to force the enemy in disfavorable positions, forcing the enemy to contest a pull when they have no wave clear and you do means that they either commit to trying to kill the creeps and take a lot of damage from your aoe spells, or they leave it alone and you get all the benefits. Another example is stacking, I see people stacking early game because they think that's what supports are meant to do no matter what, but the enemy offlaner is an underlord, and you have a carry PA that can't farm stacks fast yet, so you're essentially just feeding the underlord gold instead of helping your carry, all of these are things you should consider when doing those little tricks, don't do them to fill a checkmark, do them to give yourself an advantage, it may sound obvious, but from my experience having watched a ton of matches from my friends it really is not.
