EP 65 - Changing the Fuel filter for the 4P10! This can feel like quite a difficult task, but in reality, it’s quite easy with the right tools and information.
One of the items I highly recommend you have, is the special service tool to remove the filter bowl. This is the right way to take it off without damaging it - and having this tool and a spare filter with you on the road could save you from being stranded after getting some bad fuel. Being able to perform this filter change on your own instead of having to be towed to a service center (which may not have the tools either!) is well worth the price of having the tool and a filter on hand!

In changing the filter, you’ll see I used a white “China” marker (for marking China, not because it’s made there!) also known as a grease or wax pencil - these are very useful for a lot of things, especially when you have a dark surface where regular marking methods won’t show up. Also great in the kitchen! (And available in other colors)

These are the Watson Green Monkey Biodegradable powder free Nitrile gloves that I use while working in the shop. I’ve been using these for several years, and they are great. These are 5 mil thick, so you can still feel what you are doing, but as I’m sure you’ve noticed they do tear from time to time - mostly caused by my rings or running into sharp edges - so, if you commonly have these issues you might want to check some of their thicker sizes. Great gloves, and better for the environment.
