nice to see this video.. im somehow doing essence until now because i noticed that essence is a lot more expensive this league.. i do run em on T16 map + harvest + smuggler cache though.. Its a fun brain dead strategy for me since i can also reroll the essence using primal that i got(i reduced the blue plants but still got them a little bit). Edit: im playing using controller so corrupting essence + clicking harvest 2 times is very easy making the strat fun)

Awesome guide mate. Very well explained, well narrated, cohesive, to the point, graphic and simple to understand. 10/10, subbed. Do other mechanics, like Breaches, Beyond, Expedition, and specially Ritua, those are fun but confusing for newbies.

No matter what I farm, I always spec into essences and the torment node that ensures 5 rares are possessed. I use the compass so that 3 possessed rares drop a gilded scarab, and the +1 essence/50% corrupted compass for an additional essence and permanent upkeep on remnant of corruption. I corrupt every essence with more than 1

You only corrupt if it has purple essences or has screaming+shrieking. Otherwise it's a minus to yout profits & time.

I've found that essence tend to have massive rarity bonuses, so in tier 16 juiced maps I've had quite a lot of heavy loot explosions come from them, especially when you get the conversions and get 10-15 gilded scarabs and maybe 1 or 2 winged. Even more so if it's a combined beast and essence mob.

@Tenkiei, is it usually always worth it just upgrading your shrieking essences to deafening in your essence tab when you wanna start selling?

Depends on the time in the league. Right now I would because it's far easier to sell bulk deafening essences. But early in the league it's usually more profitable to sell screaming, shrieking, and deafening separately.

Hi great video, i have a question... I have always noticed essence was way lower tier maps muttering or the low tiers of essence but when i get to tier 10ish, i start seeing screaming and shrieking I don't understand what you mean when you say you can go to tier 1 maps and do the mechanic, could you help explain what I'm missing?

I think that's a bit of placebo, you're probably seeing the effects of your atlas passives kick in and mistaking that for the essences getting better with higher tier maps (I made that mistake before too). Tier 1 or Tier 16, the essences you get will be the same, the only way to influence it is through atlas passives.

We always have 2 people running essences. One takes the nodes for remnants of corruption and the other doesn't. Usually wind up with 100 remnants in a day or two and we can remove the remnant nodes for awhile

Thanks for the guide, i will apply it next league. This one broke me. Farmed expedition and got nothing, 3 days in a row, made a little currency selling rares with good stats on it. Saw one divine day two and, to this date, zero divine drops, zero card drops, zero everything. So i had to stick to essences, which by what i learned from your guide, i've been doing wrong. I strongly believe that GGG takes all the accounts at league start and puts rng mode off/on at random, so i got screwed this league😂

You can easily get 10+ divs from opening heist chests in white T16 maps. Learn to play the game then learn to bulk trade. The first one is required to know basic farming methods, the latter is for effiency & multiply your income by atleast 500% (if yourr farming heist chests)

Did they get rid of the Essence map craft in Aff league? I have yet to unlock it and its really fucking me up on gearing.

Essence is not on the map device this league, but you can use Seventh Gate to add it back.

That depends on current pricing. Sometimes it's better to sell Shrieking other times it's better to combine everything up to deafening. I haven't had much experience with people buying Screaming outside of early league.

Does expedition scale with map tier when it comes to dropping artifacts or vendor currency? Or they drop the same quantity independently of map tier?

The problem is, with how easy they are to farm they essentially become worthless. Even if the going price for one's like Horror or Insanity sit around 16-20c per there are thousands for sale and not that many people buying.

There are technically a few beasts that are only available in higher tier maps like Craicic Vassal, but your odds of getting something valuable like a Craicic Chimeral is actually higher in lower tier maps because you exclude the high level variants.

Nothing is missing, you don't set your atlas up for essence alone you incorporate it into another strategy. IE: Essence Heist, Essence Beast, or Essence Expedition, each of these results in different atlas trees.

There isn't, you need to make your own tree based on the other mechanics you incorporate.

is it actually necessary to use essence compass when you already have a lot of remnants of corruption? its pretty tricky, because compass adds 1 essense but 50% of all essences on the map will be corrupted. my question is like how does the compass work? does it upgrade the essence or it just stays the same but with the remnant of corruption and with no possibility to upgrade from shrieking to deafening if conditions fit to do that?

In most cases it is detrimental to use the compass. It does NOT upgrade the essence.

I think the assumption that essences do not scale with map tier is wrong. Tier 1 essence monsters are much easier than t16. If the map has layers of delirium or a beast traped inside the essences, it is much harder yet.

Every once in awhile I throw on map deli orbs and run what drops. Early league I run what I have. Or with atlas memories they supply their own maps.

@@Tenkiei Just ran a memory. Paid 1.3 div and corrupted every essence mob. Using PoeStack and upgrading to deafening only Contempt, Loathing and Zeal, I got 2.4 div of High essence at 100% PoeStack price. Probably very profitable if you run 10 memories and sell at 115%~120%.

I’ve always felt that it’s out of the norm that you can get the best essences on white maps. Like you said most other mechanics scale with difficulty. I keep expecting GGG to “fix” it but so far hasn’t happened.

They drop pretty good loot compared to normal rares so it's not like it's bad to have them in t16 maps if you can deal with them, but there's gotta be *something* someone with a shit build can farm to take part in the economy, and I think GGG very deliberately lets essences be that thing.

@@Failzz8 Yeah they seem to have a lot of quantity and rarity, when I was running harvest I used my leftover points on essence and with several blue quant+rarity altars stacked I had quite a few essence drop a bunch of gilded scarabs and sometimes a few winged. Or like 20+ fractured bases, or probably many more as I hide all but the t1 bases.

I tried essences for like 20 maps, my earnings were ok, but lower than most leagues. You make most money on corrupted essences since most of the time you get bad tier generic essences and even the highest tiers usualy cost about 2c. My earnings per map from essences were 15-20c. My advice to new players? Essences are like easy mode in certain games. You wont die much, but wont find legendary items. Some leagues offer 40c per map, if you juice, you can even get around 100c per map from one league. The maps are harder and longer though so it wont be better that much more.

It doesn't matter if the build is a bit slower, you're doing white maps, you one shot everything, and besides, rf has enough movement speed with shield charge tbh

All the memories are always worth it, otherwise they wouldn't sell. Some come with certain caveats, like having to use deli orbs or an MF build, but they each have their price for a reason
