Guys, have you or your friends had any experience with online stalkers? What did you do, how did you take action against them?

I've been stalking this channel since the start of it. And will continue to do so.

I've been here since the video about digital identity. And I must say, the quality is on another level. Don't get me wrong, the first videos were also high-quality made, and I like that the quality of the video (and also the content!) is still the main priority of this channel. The hard work really shows! Good job!

Bradley was a good host. Lucas is too. So is Emily. I just really like this channel

"Make a rule not to answer unknown numbers" - as someone who's been in the military, whenever I see private number, most of the times it's recruiter/medical calling you, so yeah, that's not an option.

Great advice. I recommend immediately taking screen shots of anything suspicious as things can be deleted and then you have no evidence.

I'm far from a privacy geek but thankfully I have very limited online presence and zero personal photos of my face. No Facebook, no Instagram, no Spanchat, no TikTok. And I always spew fake or grossly exaggerated info about myself online lol

I've had a stalker and the best advice is : do not share images or videos as public, or dont use social networks with your real name. After that I became safe again.

I don’t think shrinking your friend list will somehow help you to get away from stalkers, I think having too many friends in social media will rather confuse a stalker and such strategy won’t be effective especially when the stalker is trying find out something about your relationships with others

It can be mentally taxing to do so but every now and then use those OSINT tools, look up the stalker and keep a dossier of them. If they are a stalker then they pose a real threat to you and you need to act appropriately. The best thing you can do is to avoid them and the best way to do that is to know where they are. All of that evidence may be required at a later date as well, it makes it a lot easier for the police if you can draw a picture for them, history, MO, expected behaviours and most of all, location. I was stalked for over a decade and the best thing I did was vanish and make sure I never crossed paths with the stalker again. Your data also gets stale, if you can keep your online presence to a minimum it will benefit you in other ways.

Another great and interesting video , my only slight issue is in the script, the use of the word 'Him' to describe the stalker , I'm sure it is mainly males who do such things and you do use that case studio . I was definitely stalked by a crazy ex girlfriend for years.

Wonderful video. Something I've been wondering about whilst watching these videos is an issue similar to what happens with browser fingerprinting: wouldn't the lack of certain bits of information (e.g. being the only person in a certain set without a Facebook account) also be highly identifying, when you take all the "lacking bits" into account together? Sometimes having a *few* details, but a very specific set of "holes" can track you just as well as just giving out the info for free. Also: small editing error/detail: from 11:19 on, the blurry area (originally covering the bloody bits in the DOOM footage) stays on-screen tracking random elements such as the edge of the laptop in the next scene. It covers the links on-screen later on, then disappears at 11:58

I believe that TikTok’s algorithms can tell more about me than Facebook or ig. If only there were a possibility to see with what hashtags video someone is watching you could tell what is the interests, what passionate this person. I keep my friends lists below 250. I also openly reject people once they annoy me too much. Colleagues stay on LinkedIn and Polywork, and once I get my personal server and website up and running BYE BYE FACEBOOK. It's just not helpful. I can chat friends and such through Instagram which I really only use to facilitate lunch plans. I never wanted to be on these platforms and now that I am, the stress is immense. I won't miss that. Twitter is also rolling out Circle to everyone so you can have a small list of people who you speak too most. It's limited to 150 but it makes you really think through who you most value.

I have never had to deal with a stalker. I had a friend that met a girl while out drinking. She dropped him off at home at the end of the night. The next morning when he woke up, he looked out the window at some point and noticed a car at the McDonalds across the street from his house. The car looked like hers. He got her number so he called her. She picked up cheerfully. He asked her where she was. She responded with "I'm at the McDonalds right by your house waiting for you". He said to me "Dude I am scared". He was kind of joking but kind of not if you know what I mean. This is a man that has been studying Tae kwon do since he was like 7. He had over 90 gold trophies. He has beat up soo many people because their girls got the D from him. He is the only person I know that legit IRL had a dude be driving and see my friend and swerve the car he is driving toward my friend then speed up then dive out of the car while its moving so your not in the car when it impacts the person and the fence. The car didn't stay in a straight line. It cut hard right into a light post knocking it down. The guy that worked at the Shell gas station it happened at was pissed. My friend beat the dude up...again. Anyway this is the guy that looked at me and said "Dude I am scared". We absolutely could have beat this chick up is what we talked about as we snuck out the back door of his house to go to mine while making sure she dont tail us. Closest thing to a stalker I have ever dealt with. Nothing to drop your hot pocket to but...that chick was something else

In my opinion, stalkers are one of the most overrated crimes out there. As a psychologist i have to say most people today are just too sensitive, women in particular often feel molested/stalked when someone repeatedly leaves a sexually suggestive comment on something they have posted. But since looking beautiful is an act that is by nature already destined to generate sexual attraction, this reaction is completely natural, the only problem is that some people can handle it better than others. But the god thing is that Statistically speaking, it is the case that stalking only leads to serious criminal offenses in the rarest of cases. So online stalking is really nothing to worry about, it may be annoying but it stops the moment you turn off the computer
