There is little doubt that Yellow Perch are one of North America's tastiest panfish. However, filleting larger numbers can be tiring with a normal fillet knife. Investing a modest amount of money into an electric fillet knife makes filleting these fishing easy and efficient with little waste.

Do you have any recommendation for how to get the pin bones out after the fish has been cleaned? We paid to have our fish cleaned but found tons of pin bones still in the fillets.

Haha 😆 usually the chickens are first to the scraps but they get cranky in the winter and only want to pout in the coop

Tyler, I love you videos I just subscribed today but I’m huge into kokanee fishing as I been fishing for them for 9 years. I loved your video on If leader length matters, have you tested this anymore, that is my big question to but where I live the kokanee seem to be a bit different.

@@spiltmilt I do everything you suggest in your video for how to catch more fish. The only thing I can pin point to why I’m not catching more fish is because of leader length and how I make my corn.

Do you have any advice for fishing Kokanee in Deep Lake this spring, I'm planning a fishing trip for a few weeks after the opening.

Generally I find the fish in Deep Lake don't come up to shallow in the spring. Start at 30' deep where the lake widens up.

Legacy toxins such as mercury, PCB’s and lead accumulate in belly meat. It’s not a bad idea to just chuck it if you are eating a lot. PFAS is distributed more evenly throughout the meat but that may or may not be an issue where you fish.

For sure with long lived predators like Walleye or Catfish. Less of an issue with perch.
