So you want to find a church that will ignore scripture, accept your sin and not preach repentance from it. You also want a church that will ignore Jesus' prerequisites and requirements for being a leader in the church. You don't want a church that worships the one and only Triune God and preaches the true Gospel. You want a church that will ignore God, accept your sin and make you feel good about it and make your church experience about your feelings rather than the repentance of sin and the worship of our Holy God. If you find a church that has all the satisfactory answers to your questions then you need to leave because it is not a Godly Biblical church but a man centered heretical and blasphemous work of the Devil.

You make a good point about it from a more literal standpoint, but therein lies the problem. There are so many contradictions, both real-world and within the texts, that any number of heresies and dogmas can be justified by using certain verses for this or that policy. I've met Christians who, apart from their belief in Yhwh, have virtually nothing in common in their doctrines or dogma. YEC v Cosmology apologetics, for example.

So just to make sure I understand this correctly, you should shop for a religion that affirms what you already want to believe? Like, you're going to take your life forward from this point, accepting that your already chosen belief is somehow the one and only Divine God's will? I'm not really the expert here, but I'm pretty sure that choosing your faith based on your sexual preference might not be the best way to do it.

Why should religion be informed or influenced by a personal struggle of deviancy?

Love the sinner, hate the sin.

Here's irony for you: I don't think it's a sin and still hate it.

@@Deridus it’s really not up to anyone else if it’s a sin or not. Do you get to decide if murder is also?

@@tomster7574 You assume I believe in the ontological existence of sin in the first place. I do not believe there is such a thing, nor do I believe there is an objective, universal moral code beyond what our general consensus is; beyond the big three, everything is negotiable, and there are exceptions there as well. Apart from S.A., that is. Don't think I've heard any sane defenses of that beyond youthful indiscretion, and even then the need for immediate corrective action is evident.

@@Deridus you assume that I believe in anything you say. The law of physics can’t be broken, but you think the laws of right and wrong can be.

@@tomster7574 We obviously live in different world, then. E=MC^2, perhaps a fundamental reality. Life, like any energy-consuming process, requires constant input, is another. Those are seemingly objective realities. Morals and ethics? Subjective opinions based on variable grey-matter programing and experiences. Be well.

I am curious how you address Christians who claim homosexuality is a sin. I am an ex Christian who never agreed with the church's anti gay rhetoric.

Why should someone be pro-gay? Or even indifferent to it? Should we be indifferent to someone constantly being dishonest about small things? What about someone choosing to never wash their hands? Those things don’t immediately or directly impact us in the short term, but over the long term they certainly do. So with other acts that have the effect over the long run of destabilizing institutions such as marriage, nuclear family, and other important cornerstones of society.
