Thank you for all the comments about McLarens and garbage dumps, etc. I've never been to Florida. Hope you get back to the corolla soon.

This was a good video for me to watch. I recently did my thermostat and radiator and lower coolant hose. The upper one looks good so I left it. I thought “I should replace all these smaller coolant hoses while I’m at it.” I was lazy and didn’t. Should have. I’ll replace them over the summer.

Thanks Fabian. I'm actually not sure what the part number is or even the size. When I have small hoses like this leak, I just take them to the parts store where they have bulk rolls of hose behind the counter. They just compare the sizes and then cut a piece whatever length I need. This hose might have been 3/8 inch inside diameter, and it ran $2 USD per foot. So I paid $2.10 after tax I think. ...Hope this helps.

Hi Dave. I bought a 1997 crv about three months ago. I am located in Cyprus in Eastern Mediterranean. Here there is a rationale that since the temp doesn't drop below zero,. They only put distilled water into the radiator. I have been getting a water leak on drivers side. The leak is always where the heater box is. I did clean under the front windshield cowl and followed troubleshooting instructions other crv owners gave. Somebody told me the heater core might be plugged and leaking. Are you planning to do a radiator flush video, I want to flush the system and fill it with appropriate coolant. What colour coolant is needed, what are the steps? Sorry for the long winded comment. English is not my first language.

Hey, thanks for the comment zoejay. I just did a little research on using pure distilled water, which, at first, I would have thought was fine, some say that distilled water is ionically imbalanced and therefore strips minerals from your engine to try to balance itself. It seems "softened" or "demineralized" water is best, but real coolant is better because it contains corrosion inhibitors, whereas water promotes corrosion. It does sound like your heater core has begun to leak. If you're flushing trying to flush it, using water should be fine, but it is a good idea (as you mentioned) to refill with coolant afterwards. Honda of course recommends Honda long-life antifreeze/coolant type 2. I personally just run any "long-life" coolant, the color doesn't matter. ... Sorry, but I can't do any flushes on the CRV any time soon because it's about 700 miles away from me at the moment. But I personally wouldn't do a flush, unless I had reason to believe something was getting plugged up. I'd just do a drain and refill. I have heard though, that a good way to flush the heater core is to unhook the coolant lines that go through the firewall, and hook up a hose to force water to run backward through the heater core. ... I sincerely hope for the best for you zoejay, but it sounds like you're probably going to have to replace the heater core, or maybe since it doesn't get cold there, you could just bypass it. You could probably unhook the coolant inlet and return hoses that go through the firewall, and just couple them together so they recirculate through the engine. You just wouldn't have heat anymore. Hope I've said something to help. Thanks again for the comment!

@@yasircicek2089 i’m sorry, I don’t remember. It was a while ago and it’s my daughters car which I don’t have access to right now. I just took the old hose in to see if they had a similar size.
