walk us through what your doing. i’m 18 and started construction on custom homes about 3 months ago. i’m doing well and have even got a raise already. but i need to hear what exactly your doing. i feel it would be beneficial for you to walk it through with your audience

Basically, we want to get rid of the inside little triangle corners of each end so they meet up, right? So At 00:44, he slides the right board fully into the corner pocket. He takes a long ruler (straight edge) on the left board to 'see where the ruler says 'if the piece wasn't there, we'd meet HERE'. And he marks the right board where the ruler touched it. He does the same for the other board; puts the ruler on the right board and sees where the ruler touches the left board. He marks that board. Connect the marks to their edges - cut off edges - Done.

@@mfb6310 I pictured that and got it right away. I'm roofing my mud room. I needed to know how to angle the rails on the slope when attaching them to the butt plate. |‐‐‐i \?? Measure top length from plate to edge of 2"x4" sloped roof rail, mark bottom of rail same lenth, draw line from mark to rail edge top, cut. Fit like I knew all along! Thanks!

On the last cut there is no need to measure the gap. Place the piece to cut as he did. Take another piece and place it exactly as he did in the first part of the video. Place your ruler sling the edge of the second piece and overlap the first piece. Draw a line and that’s your cut. In essence your scribing the piece you want to cut.

I don't understand..your starting with a board already cut at an angle..I need to know how to find it with a board cut straight at both ends .???..would have help if you talked threw it and turned down music

I am pretty sure I followed up using this method while trying to corner two 2 by 4s on an acute angle. However, I always ended up with an angle which was wider by two time the measured angle. Obviously the solution was to cut that angle by half but that took me a while to figure out. Honestly I thought I was going crazy.. how come I followed every step but came up with the wrong results.

I see these fancy saws of today and think back to when people were cutting wood using dinosaur teeth or the teeth of their fallen neighbors and still managed to produce product thats still superior to anything built today! Why is this the case? Because fir some reason age is the determining factor rather than quality!

Why do people make videos talking about what they r gonna do then when they start doing it they say nothing. Should talk more during the explanation than they do during the introduction. JS
