IN PARALLEL CONNECTION CURRENT SPLITS UP ACROSS ALL THE RESISTORS, HIGHER THE VALUE OF RESISTOR LESSER IS THE CURRENT FLOWING THROUGH THAT RESISTOR.
THE POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE (P.D) MEASURED BY THE VOLTMETER IS THE P.D BETWEEN THE TWO ENDS OF THE EQUIVALENT RESISTANCE (Req).
THE VOLTMETER IS ALWAYS CONNECTED IN PARALLEL ACROSS THE RESISTANCE AND AMMETER IN SERIES.
HIGHER P.D IS OBSERVED ACROSS ALL THE RESISTANCES ARE SAME.
OHM’S LAW IS OBEYED AT ALL TIMES.
SO THE RATIO OF V AND I GIVES YOU THE EQUIVALENT RESISTANCE (Req)

Ideally V proportional to I is correct and the proportionallity constant is resistance if you say I proportional to We then proportionallity constant is 1 upon resistance that is conductance
