What makes this method easy? It is literally the longest and most time consuming method, and only works for either small numbers if you have a solid knowledge the multiplication tables, or if you have a calculator for larger numbers.

As a math teacher, I teach finding factors very similarly when teaching algebraic factoring. I agree that it's not necessarily easier. However, a lot of kids feel like they have to keep guessing to find the two numbers that work. This at least takes out the guess work and ensures that they will eventually find the correct answer. I, personally, teach my kids that if they find the correct factors quickly, they do not need to write out the T-chart.

Thank you so much I was confused for this but now it's easy for me after watching your explanation. it is really useful for my tomorrow's maths exam. And the answer to the question is => 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,12,14,21,18,42 and 84 itself.
