What about bumping deer that you can’t see that you believe is a good buck? It’s thick where I hunt and I believe I always bump a nice one when I get aggressive

Good info 👍. This can apply to public as well as private land. I've improved my bow hunting sightings and now am seeing mature deer because of learning by watching your stuff. Bedding upper third, wind at their back looking down hill and down wind. I jumped a big one scouting last summer that was doing exactly that. Hunting a just off wind is what I look for now. Thanks guys and keep up the good work helping others out! Tom

I'm so changing my access route this season to the small parcel of land I've hunted over 25 years. Had a hunch, but confirmed it scouting after end of last season, he's had me pegged the whole time. Really appreciate THP sharing the woodsmanship skills.

Really like the breakdown. Wind direction will always be a factor for early season when getting in tight due to their lack of distance they will travel. Later on and rut.....distance travel will be greater. Awesome work and great explanation!

Southern Appalachian guy, myself, but any eastern mountain state would be awesome as long as the terrain is tough. There’s a difference in mountains that have ridges 15 miles long vs. mountains that go up, down, up, down.

Charlie Howell totally agree. When I got started mobile hunting watching these guys walk 2+ miles into public land making it look easy I was like “ah this won’t be to bad.” Then I realized the difference between 2 miles of flat ground and 2 miles up and down hill mountains lol.

Gentlemen, I know you don’t hunt Illinois. However, would you come to the springfield area? Link up with scheels and maybe do a public land class. You’d have a lot of attendees. There are quite a few public land properties within 30 minutes of the capitol. Plus we have an award winning horseshoe... good enough reason! I’ll house ya for free if you stop in!

Hey guys. Y'all should check out paint Creek Ohio there are some giant bucks out there. My dad killed a 183 inch buck and we have seen some more like it but all public land and is really fun and make sure to bring Ted's boat lol

What do you recommend for setting up times? If your hunting a buck bed in the afternoon what’s the latest you guys will get in the tree?

It all depends on the time you have available. Most times we’d rather be setup several hours before dark but it don’t always work that way. If you only have an hour or so to hunt then you have to make due
