How to find housing

Coming from abroad to study at Leiden University you will need to find housing. As there are many new students coming to Leiden and The Hague every year Claire's biggest tip is: start looking for a house as early as you can! In this video she will take trough the five different options to find housing.

Just a tip from a Dutchman from Leiden/The Hague, as Claire said in her video, it's really difficult to find a good cheap/decent house in this area. You need to start looking early otherwise it will be really difficult to find something, try to make use of all the University's possibilities and connections. A correction as well, at 2:11 it's room.nl, without the S. They have a pretty long waiting list though.

it is easy find house the first year but almost impossible the other years in Leiden

Hey Claire! I am looking to come to Leiden to pursue my masters. I just received my unconditional offer. I have been looking all over Facebook and the sites mentioned on Leiden Website but haven’t found anything decent so far within my budget. Hi, I'm starting a program at Leiden University on The Hague campus in September, Did you find a solution last year? To be honest I'm really struggling to find accommodation.

@@clementcrd4434 I had to apply for the student housing through Leiden University and it turned out to be a good decision, it’s cheaper and definitely more hassle free.

@@eternalpeace24 yes that is definitely the best, that would have been the first thing I would have applied to. The thing is, when I received my offer from Leiden university it was already too late for that. Thus, I have to look for accommodation by myself. It's been 3 weeks and honestly I 'm really struggling and I am really stressed about it because it doesn't seem to go anywhere. If you have any advice, that would be great !

Hey Smriti, when did you apply for the housing.? I mean which month? I am applying for the autumn 2022 intake, hence wanted to know..
