How to find Mooralla Smoky Quartz Crystal Geodes. Mooralla is a locality in Victoria, Australia. The fossicking/prospecting areais open to the public. Crystals from this area are multi terminated and have a notable transparency and lustre and many contain fluid/water inclusions. JUST BEAUTIFUL! They should be called.....Black Diamonds.

+Grace Cheecks Thanks for watching Grace. Some countries do have areas where you can pay to prospect and some have areas where it's free. You'll have to do a little bit of research in your particular area as to where you can dig up/prospect for crystals. Good luck and wish you all the very best....Liz

Thanks for the comment scourtney. It's a great hobby to be involve in. The only bad part is that, it can be quite addictive. I always believe that one doesn't find the gems/crystals. They find you. So I'd say that they do have some sort of energy in them.

I find that when I am searching for Lady's Slipper flowers, (don't pick them) I may not see any at all for hours, or days but then finally one pops into view and next thing I know they just start popping out all over the place! Right under my nose the whole time?! I know this is a sort of geology video, but I am hoping that those who love and respect mother nature will enjoy my little story. Mother nature's gifts of beauty and wonder and amazement are everywhere!

HEY Spec.Explor! I'm so. cal, there is jade, agates, jaspers, and quartz on the beaches.( almost all), If you could get to Acton ca, an hr North of l.a. taking the i-5 North, to the 14 north to crown valley road offramp, go right, pass the park, and the hills ABOUND IN AGATES AND MOSS AGATE, GEODES,and beautiful quartz crystal. They just literally litter the hillside above Escondido canyon road. also, the Malibu hills, off the 101, and kanan road, past the jack in the box, about mile 1. I live in the san Fernando valley, so I go to all these places. Acton is by far the easiest pickings, and my favorite. Good luck, take water, and have fun. Text me if you go, and maybe I'll meet you there.

I know of a couple who gets their Sons(3 and 4 yrs.) prospecting for gems here in Australia. They are so at home picking rocks and showing me what they are and how to look for them. For over a year now, their parents got them watching youtube videos of how to find gems. I'm sure in a few years time, they'll teach me a trick or 2. LOL Good idea to start them young. They become more involve and passionate about prospecting when they get older. Good ex. is my hubby. Good luck and wish you the best.

Jude, if you watch my prospecting videos, take note on the start of the video as far as locations are concerned for i do show where it is. On this video for example, the name "Mooralla" is a place in Victoria where these crystals can be found. Then, go on the net and find any articles regarding Mooralla and you'll find out where the location is. The same goes for my other videos. Most of the places in my video are public fossicking/prospecting area. Also check out my other channel "WalnLiz"

Hi Angel, I don't know where you're from but here in Australia and some other countries have many "Lapidary Clubs or Gem Clubs" that one can join. Nearly all of these clubs have prospecting trips on a regular basis to places where they look for gemstones. May I suggest you investigate the area you live in and find out if such clubs exists. It might be worthwhile giving them a call. You can easily find their contact info on the net of the clubs nearest you. Good luck and wish you all the very best and thank you for watching. Cheers, Liz

Hey Alex Ramerez, I recently left los Vegas having lived there 15 yrs. I had a secret spot where I would go to collect agate, geodes, and crystals. These spots are rich in gemstones! , but keep it a secret, huh?... just kidding. The more the mareier! You can find what your looking for and so much more out in SERCHLIGHT, NEVADA. If you're in Henderson, just jump on the 95. South and turn off like your going to the river in Laughlin. Stay on the hyway as if going to SERCHLIGHT, but pay attention to the "power-lines" on the right side of the hyway. Just before the town of SERCHLIGHT, the hyway and the power-lines on the right side of the hyway, out in the desert, meet. Turn-off onto any of the dirt roads that lead to the steel hi power line towers. Park and have a look around following the wires over-head. I have filled the back of my truck with beautiful colored gems, minerals, crystals, and arrow-heads. Don't bother to look in the sand wash at the foot of the mtns out in the desert. I have found nothing there. Only in the areas under, and around the power lines. Also, if you go back towards vegas, and see the road sign for NELSON, turn and go there. Go up the hill to the little town, and find rhe visitors center that looks like an old gas station. Park and look at all the wonderful colored gems and minerals on the property, but don't take them. You can find yyour own if you drive back on the dirt roads leading to the mtns behind this place. Probably about 100ft or little more behind I have found awesome geodes! Look around for baseball sized nodules, and bring them home and crack them open. Well I know this will help you find tons of material. Peaceandlove...Theo.

@LizKreate
@LizKreate 10 жыл бұрын
Hi Leslie, Talk about timing. I'm in the process of doing a video on cutting stones....lol I'm using a 6 inch Diatrenn saw blade with high concentration of diamond. It's ideal for all types of gemstones. Been using this blade for many years and I haven't replaced it for a new one and I cut a lot of stones. I also use a .2mm thick tin blade for valuable gemstones that require minimum waste like Opals and sapphires. Cheers, Liz
