Just bought a1955 evenrud. The seller had a history with the motor and maintenance records. Engine paint is perfect .

I recently purchased a 1966 Johnson outboard motor, and I'm going through the process of rebuilding the motor. I got a new water pump, thermostat, and ignition system to get it back on the water soon. Thanks again and great video.

Hello Mike. I am in the UK. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to post these videos. So far I have restored a 6hp Evinrude which was seized but managed to get it going and sold it on. I have 2- 4hp Evinrudes. Recently I bought a 1984 2 hp Evinrude and restored with new electrics and a transistorised Ignition module to replace points and condenser. Your videos very useful to me. My interest is 1958-1972 Johnson-Evinrude 1-125 HP because that's what I have a Seloc repair manual for. (that I purchased from T-Mike) I stick with the 4-10 HP Johnson engines. Great little dependable bulletproof engines. Thanks for the history lessons and please make more videos like this one.

I feel your addiction ! 😂 I got a soft spot in my heart four Evinrude Johnson 25 hp 69 to 75 ! To me these outboards were build and build very well !

Great video Mike….lots of information and very informative. I use many of the methods you do. Up here in central Canada a lot of the old outboards go for around $50 on average. I guess lower priced because of our short season. I have collected approximately 100 or so in about 4 years of collecting. Anyway keep the videos coming my friend. 👍

I went to get a parts motor 1956 30hp Johnson for 75 bucks and he gave me a 1955 25 hp Evinrude no fly wheel though but it was a freebie

One tip I can give you is they used the same motors in post hole augers at that time , the brand name eludes me at this time but often when something has a different application parts can be found easier on a different circuit sometimes cheaper.

hey mike i have parts for clam shells 10 hp and 2 hoods a red j ohnson 10 ran =got a greed motor no bottom and old parts for 5=7=10 2 cyl motors sll cheep dont want to scrap em = also have 9.9 evenrude parked 3 years noe and a 10 merk and a motor 5=7 hp needscarb work im cleaning house time to pick im 81 and dont fish so comment thanks mike
