How to find the owner of a lost iPhone

If you find an iPhone and trying to find and return to the owner, you'll have a few options. It's much harder to find the owner if the iPhone is locked. It also depends whether the iPhone owner has set up a medical ID, emergency contacts, Siri, adding his/her own contact, etc. So, in this video I'll show various steps to help the owner to contact the lost iPhone and/or you find the owner or owner's friends.
Before trying to contact the iPhone's owner, you need to make sure the owner and his/her contacts can contact the iPhone!
By making sure the iPhone is connected to a network! Scroll down from right hand corner.
Make the following settings are applied
1) Areophane mode is OFF
2) Mobile data is ON (this helps people to contact the phone via internet only messaging apps such as WhatsApp, FaceTime, etc.)
3) Focus Mode is OFF
(When ON, you might not get notifications/rings based on the "Focus" customized settings)
4) If network & mobile data are deactivated, then try to connect the iPhone to a WiFi.
Make sure the silent mode is not turned ON!
There are 2 options to find the owner of a lost iPhone
1) Find the emergency contact of the iPhone's owner
Select emergency, then select medical data if it's set up.
If medical ID doesn't appear here, it means that the owner didn't set up a medical ID!
Hopefully, the owner has added at least one emergency contact! Then, you could simple tap on the number
You should be able to see the emergency contacts even when the iPhone is not connected to a mobile network. If the iPhone is not connected to a mobile network. Then, you can
1) call using your own phone.
2) add the number to your own WhatsApp and contact through WhatsApp.
2) If the sim card is deactivated by the owner, then add a new sim that has got a mobile data and then ask siri who does this phone belongs to. Please let me know in the comments whether Siri provided the full contact details without unlocking the phone? Please also specify the iPhone's model, if you know? When the phone is unlocked or some older models, you would have an option to contact the owner! Specially on the FaceTime, since the owner could still access it without having the phone.
Another option to activate Siri! In older iPhones, you should hold the front button instead of the side button to activate Siri.
Hopefully, the owner has activated Siri and also added his/her own contact to the contact list.

It worked! I found a phone at the park and they had mom and dad emergency contacts set up. I brought the phone to the park entrance and met the kids mom there. Thank you!

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the owner of an iPhone 14.Even for using Siri I was asked for the password.

Another thing that just has come to my mind. Try to take the SIM card out & put it into another phone (if it's still active), & then try to find the phone number related to that sim card. After a while the owner of the phone should request for a new sim card with the same number. then try to call that number, & hopefully, it'll be the same person. Also, sometimes, the sim card stores other contacts number. Try contacting them too. Otherwise, if all things fails, then the wisest thing to do is to hand it to a police station or if it's an airport, etc, to the administrator of that place.

tried it all nothing, cant find the owner! and i am in mexico - if I give it to cops, they will just pocket the phone, frustrating, poor person who lost it! that made me think of having a sticker on my phone with my instagram!
