Don't worry! In this video I show you how to choose the right ear dome for your hearing aid.
I explain the different kinds or ear domes and which are suitable for which hearing loss.
Whether you're using Behind-The-Ear (BTE), In-The-Ear (ITE) or Completely-In-The-Canal (CIC) hearing aids, this video helps you pick the right ear domes for your hearing aids.

What if you have a stright cannel, and they wont stay in place...would a custom mold be best?

Hi there, a custom mold will definitely help, but before you go for that you can try it using a retention (that's the small plastic "tail" you can mount on many hearing aid ear pieces). If the retention won't help you can still go for a custom mold. Your hearing professional can also combine a custom mold with a retention, like in an "Canal Lock" or "Semi Skeleton" style. How do you know what size is the best fit for you?

Hi Barbara, thank you for the great question. In most cases there are three different sizes of ear domes. Start with the medium size and see how it fits. If it is too small then go for the bigger one and vice versa. In fact it’s a simple kind of trial and error. Best, Dave

Is there anything like ear measurement

Hi Vikky. Ear measurement (like measuring the size of your ear canal and finding the right dome based on those measures) won't work with silicone ear domes. The ear canal changes it's shape the deeper you go inside, and the silicone ear domes are very flexible. The best way finding the right ear dome is to try how it fits in the ear. Best, Dave

Are they standard for all brands?

Unfortunately not, but some are interchangeable. Really depends on the brand/manufacturer

I bought red/blue cdc aids but cannot put a dome/end on either. I'm sorry I even tried. No one warned me about this. I can't use them. discouraged

Hi Rebecca. I'm surprised that there are standard aids that don't support ear domes. The best you can do is return them and get better ones. Best, Dave

@@hearingaids-Dave Hi Dave, the problem is that the domes are not refundable. It gets costly when we are troubleshooting.

@@terelandazuri8279 Thank you for your comment. Usually those domes should not cost more than a few bucks when bought online. You can usually find them on marketplaces like Amazon at really low prices. Best, Dave
