Wanna be able to confidently hit CRAZY high notes? How about combining your different registers and resonances (including mixed voice and falsetto) to sing C6 and beyond?
It's really not enough to be able to eek out a disturbingly high squeak once in awhile. We want to be able to use whistle tones in a musical, artistic way... That's where it all counts.
In this video I unpack how to not only find your whistle register and tones, but I also show you how to work it in with your every day singing!
Move over Mariah Carey and David Lee Roth :)

This video is exactly how Chris guides you in discovering your voice with his course 'Discover your Voice' Sometimes it is the simple things that can make a world of difference. I just finished the "Discover your Voice" Exercises/Videos/Feedback that lives up to the course's title. Notice the course title doesn't have the word "Singing" in it, but it does do what the title says it will do -- providing you the tools to discover your voice. Chris' style of teaching is unique and what makes this path of discovery so eventful. Along this path you will see signs that say "noise" "Goofy" "Mickey Mouse" and "one or two line songs" that brings it all together. There will be a big billboard along this path with the words "Feeling" on it. I can't sum up the course in a few paragraphs, nor can you discover your full potential watching one video. Instead, you are given the necessary criteria to discover your voice, and it's potential over a series of videos, exercises, journaling, comment/feedback (the feedback Chris provided to my comments in itself makes the course worth every penny) while having fun discovering your unique voice. Even though I finished the course, it is always there for me to access if needed. It was truly a journey worth every penny-Thanks Chris.

Funny thing is, I've been able to do whistle notes for a really long time. I'm a baritone, and I have not yet learned to use mixed voice to gain more range, so basically I can only utilize two different "extremes", if you will. It always catches people off guard.

Really interesting way to find it, I'm a "natural" whistler, so I did it since I was a kid, I remember I could sing together with Mariah all the time, when my voice changed due to puberty I thought I was going to lose it like most people said I would, but it the difference was that I needed to light up more my tone to reach the notes. I think my highest note ever was a A7, which was probably random since I was trying to sing a Eb7 lol.

I grew up listening to japanese metal, and because of Dir En Grey's vocalist, Kyo (who can exhale whistle scream), a lot of other band's vocalists started emulating this technique. I was very fond of Mejibray, and, at the time, it naturally came to me that it was an inhale sound, to the point that I was able to reproduce it easily. Imagine the shock when I discovered that it was (most of the time) a type of exhaled "scream". Kyo can still do it, along DEVILOOF's vocalist Keisuke, and many others too. It certainly is one of the things that I strive to learn.

I did the opposite haha. I started listening to Dir En Grey in high school when I saw them on the family values tour in 2006, and till this day they are my favorite band. I figured out how to do it exhale and I'm just now finding there is a way to do it on an inhale.

This is the whistle tone tutorial that made the most sense in the 30+ I've watched and tried so far on this topic, inhale and exhale combined. It shows the bad noise we initially make (all i have at this point) and describes the process of progression from there with doable steps. If this is the quality of your teaching then I am buying Will & Elizabeth's course with you for sure. Much appreciated!❤

This technique BLEW MY MIND. I've always been able to do whistles in the traditional approach so I gave this a try expecting it not to work but was so surprised. I also struggle to hit my whistles when summer hits because of allergies and did not expect to be able to hit them using this technique but I did! Granted, I can go way higher using the traditional technique BUT GET THIS I tested my "traditional" whistles after doing a few "inhale whistles" and I was able to access my full range of "traditional" whistles!!!! So this is also a great warmup exercise for whistles. Thank you, love your videos!

His talent for explaining things in a concise, engaging, and relatable way is the key differentiator between him and everyone else.
