Excellent video. Very clear straightforward and to the point. A lot of people take for granted how hard it is to actually make one of these videos that makes sense and covers all the points that are in the title. Right along with not tripping all over your words. So all-in-all thumbs up. Liked and subscribed.

Nice tutorial! I try to explain this to guys at shows when it's really too late to test at that time so this will help them be prepared.

Every time you see the number change when we finally get to the 150 db mark it was because we were changing something in the vehicle, seat position, visors, glove box open, door open/close, window up/down. Peak doesn't change but just a few hz when you change from sealed to open or from dash to kick. So YES this works the same just remember depending on meter location and vehicle open vs sealed, peak changes.

I will say tho your right there are so many varibles that can raise or lower your spl and its heartbreaking to lose by those tenths good luck

Is there a way to just do a sweep and plot the spl as a graph? Kind of a pain to do it in steps.

I know old video, but what was the box tune? You didn't say and how does does box affect system tune?

Nice vid ami, i would really really really suggest people to use 2 decimals instead of one, maybe a couple of those 150.1 times it was actually louder when you guys changed something but couln´t notest that since you were using a single decimal, nice video! fecupe2001@SMD

this should be titled system peak [testing] vehicle peak can be considered as resonance fq which is the loudest spl fq in your vehicle and that's a way different test

haha true, BUT, for example, imagine that you gained 0.01 dbs by moving an air vent and you weren´t using the 2 decimals and you didn´t see that, then, you burp a 159.9 score that was really a 159.99 dbs lol, that happened to me today using a single 8", burped a 146.99 dbs, i hate not having the extra 0.01 dbs i need :(
