Freyia, I am crying right now, it’s so beautiful to hear these words from you. By nature I’m not very trusting of most things. When I was misled down the path of- “today let’s give an offering to Frey, Thor , Loki etc”- Expecting some in return that never came. Now I just give offerings to the land, a reciprocal relationship.If it doesn’t feel right I will just leave it alone. I’ve distanced myself from the literary version of the gods and moved to more archetypal views of the universe. I can trust this for now. I can’t imagine what will come next for me.

I lost my job of 20 years two days ago. I prayed to Allfather for help. I heard : pick yourself up. I have a job interview in two days. Allfather is wise.

My trusted god is Loki, nearly 40 years now. It's been a difficult relationship, times when I've not wanted it, but Loki is not a god to be refused, and now, these past years I've embraced him, we work beautifully together now. ❤

I didn't realize until recently how often Odin has revealed himself to me. Before i was introduced to the old Norse beliefs, runes and path, before i knew my last name and that 40 % of my blood is Norwegian. I recieved my first set of Runes on my 17th birthday ( im almost 37yrs old now) from uncle who carved them from hickory wood and around that same time i learned the orgin of my last name. I recall having a few vivid dreams when i was 15 of who i know now was Odin, and there was symbols and things that are typically associated with Odin within these dreams. At that time i wasnt familiar at all with The Nordic Gods, and those dreams i had i still remember so its a very wonderful experience to make this connection.

I found my patreness Goddess when I was visiting my grandparents graves She said "Life becomes anew" then I saw a Falcon flying Hail Freyja she came to me in my living room last November and I felt her in the room I was ready to go home with her right there and right then nothing else mattered and my life has became Anew I can't see my life without her

Another great video, very enlightening! It took me a bit of time before I felt ready to watch this, and I’m so glad I finally did. This is a completely new concept for me, but I very much like the sound of it. I’ll admit I’m a bit disappointed there’s not a more clear-cut path to achieving this type of relationship with the Norse deities, but on the other hand, it’s also reassuring in a way knowing that I don’t have to do some dramatic ritual or spell to get there, that it’ll just develop on its own through continued interaction and connection (assuming it’s meant to be), just like a close, trusting relationship with anyone else. This makes perfect sense Something something to me while listening to this was what I suppose is my own Patron. It's a spirit that has always been with me for as long as I remember. When I was small, and growing into my teens I would recieve messages from "Future Derek". I would imagine that there was a future version of me who was capable of telepathically communicating with me in the past. Soon after my spiritual awakening a few years back I realized that it was my soul, Toksik66. But you something click inside of my head as to why I have been so drawn to all of the gods and goddesses and natural spirits, light and dark. It's like they, as within so within. Each new one that I learn about is a part of what I call Toksik66. I'm glad I saw this Thank you. Your work is amazing.

It's kind of fascinating, really, because despite having vastly different experiences and spiritualities from you, I have rather similar perspectives on the subject. A deity with which we have such a profound connection is a part of who we are, in a way, and how we envision the world and how we interact with it. It's thrilling, and sort of reassuring, really 😁

i´m not sure what she meant but for me when the sun leaves in the autumn i need to have someone to replace her (for me it is the dancing one, the fire spirit). another example i can think of is what if it´s a line of ancestral witches, not just one. another one is hive animals, like ants.. surely it would be the whole nest, not just one ant (or possibly just one ant for someone). that is the beauty for me, it can be anything (one or many). trust however remains the same (much trust is needed, and that only comes in time).

I feel like I have been called by Thor a lot of times, I had two dreams involving Thor in a way. One dream I dreamt I was a Viking and I just raided this town and to shorten it a huge storm broke out and I could hear Thor striking his anvil. One other dream I saw a raven fly through a storm of thunder and lightning.

I was called by Loki and I have grown increasingly close to them/him almost immediately. We are now in a "god-spousal" relationship, We have been together for several past lives and I couldn't ask for a better "patron" Deity.

Ok, so it may seem like an odd question, but it's driving me nuts! The sound that plays with the music at exactly 1:00 minute into this video is something that I KNOW I've heard before, but I can't remember where I know it from. Please help me!

It is More Likely that your "patron" deity will choose you, than you choosing them. This I know from experience. The word Patron is not a word we as Germanic/Scandanavian pagans should be using. It is a Latin derived word that came out of france. If you compare the word in a thesaurus, you will get words like supporter, customer, backer, financer, underwriter. That's not how I would describe my relationship to any God. I don't just sacrifice only to get something. The Romans however often did practice this way. The difference is that our Gods are not just archetypal psychopomps. They possess indifferent consciousness and are subject to fate like the rest of us. I am not criticizing the work of Freyja. I often find her videos inspiring. I am criticizing the use of the term "Patron" or "Patron Deity" amongst the greater Heathen community. This carryover key phrase from wicca, should be changed to reflect a more heathen mindset. Perhaps a more germanic word should be chosen that would denote this type of rapport with deity, without the trappings of Roman or Frankish Latin. I am pretty sure the arch heathens never used the words "patron deity" to describe the relationship they had with their God.
