How to terminate a team member gracefully? Terminating an employee is probably one of the most painful scenarios you could ever encounter as a manager. But we need to do what we need to do.
In our restaurant, we usually terminate a team member because of poor performance or not meeting expectations. In today's Making Dough Restaurant Show episode, I'll share with you the art and science of how to terminate an employee professionally.

Hi there , very helpful video, Thank you so much . Please advise me, how can I deal with a staff who can never speak to me or my colleagues while he is working? I get so so worried but even there is a customer complaint he cannot come to us and address it since he is not talking to any of us .thank you .

What do you do if they beg for their job and promise to do better and ask for another chance

It'll be your discernment as to what to do. You'll know the context and this persons background. However, if you did indeed take the time and have a sit down and formal feedback session with them and you saw not enough improvement then.. You simply repeat the script and wish them well. However, if you saw improvement, and you want to give them another chance, lay out the terms. "Ok. I am willing to give you another chance and these are the areas you need to improve and we'll sit down again in 30 days to review your performance". Make sure to give you expectations in writing so there are no confusions.. And follow up in 30 days. Hope this helps. -Hengam

As a leader. I would give the employee 2 weeks a head of time. Self relationships. Thats why your market team sucks. Oh! It an eye for an eye. Thats what the bible says. Common law
