It’s so cool as your describing your casts and the fish is reaction and the strip , strip, and the take as it turns and you do a nice strip set and the leader snaps . Now he has two of your flies . It’s OK who hasn’t done that . it’s the chase , like a never ending game with Permit especially the big ones they will drive you crazy . The good news is your casting skills get a much better that never hurts .Great video.

Hi Mike, I've been watching your videos and I took your advice on how to strip set. I successfully managed to get a beautiful big permit today! I have to admit that you need to keep your cool when you are faced with permit on your fly. I never knew a fish could make me so nervous 🤣🤣 but it all came together! Hahaha I know, it was heart breaking Anyway was an impossible fish to land without a boat! The one on the picture it’s the biggest I caught here same as the one on the video that permit ran 600 meters out on backing and kilometers running along the coast imagine!!. This time I only had 200 meters backing 😄

Buen video bro !! Soy guia de pesca y te sere sincero, con la palometa...no tengo suerte !! ( pescando por mi solo ) pero con mis clientes me ha tocado muchas buenas capturas.. es algo que te llena de adrenalina el ver como siguen la mosca...y estar a la espera de sentir esa mordida !!! ... escuchar llorar al carrete...uff algo que deja sin palabras !! . Aqui en esta parte de la bahia de la acencion tienen un record de 56 lb. Una hermosa palometa que peleo mas de 3 horas... . Muy buenas moscas !! Me gusta mucho atar . Un tip.. prueva cngrejo blanco mas o menos como el mercan ...con una cinta curri encima de color oro. Con ojos amarillos . Tambien en color verde y el mismo color de cinta. Efectivo para la plometa !! Suerte bro !! Mucho exito !

Hola bro!! Gracias! Si te comprendo!! La palometa es fascinante ya que es tan especial al comer!.. Esas ganas de algún día poder engancharla te mantienen con la esperanza y pasión por seguir intentando y cada día te apasionas más!!😄 Algo que entendí en estos últimos meses sobre la palometa es que necesita un tiro perfecto en el momento preciso! Aveces el tiro más feo engancha al pez 😄. Muy complejo por qué se comportan diferente dependiendo donde se alimentan pero encontré que poniendo la mosca delicadamente por encima de la frente y la dejas hundir! La toman al instante🙌🏽👏🏼👏🏼😁🍻 (ojo) cuando te ven se estresan y no comen. Ataré algunas moscas de las que mencionaste y haré un video probándola! Uuuuf este pez es uno de los más difíciles de atrapar, todo depende de su comportamiento del día, la mosca, el perfecto ángulo de presentación, el strip. Si está en arena mi recomendación es lanzar la mosca cuando el permit viene hacia ti formando un ángulo de 45 grados con tu línea y la boca del pez, la mosca aterrizaría antes que la “palometa” (permit) vea la mosca, unos 3 a 4 metros entre la mosca y el permit, la mosca tocara fondo mientras el permit se acerca, entre 3 y 2 metros; un strip largo lento, delicado y no la moverás más, (solamente mantendrás tensa la línea(tirando súper lento) mientras el permit toma la mosca y corre. Ojo! el permit tomara la mosca rápida y ligeramente que podría soltarla si no mantienes esa línea en total conexión. Recomendación: la punta de la caña en el agua durante todo el procesó de strip👍🏽 Otras palometas podrían comer a velocidad! O hasta en el peor tiro y menos esperado😅 Espero te sirvan estos tips! abfly62 thank you! Usually sian kaan (boca paila) and some other bays between tulum and Playa del Carmen! Lots of cool spots with different species to fish. DIY style. One set up for bones and permit and the other for jack crevalle that normally surf the waves or suddenly show up hunting the shallow so Have to be ready!! Thanks for watching!🎣🎣
