i thought you suppose to take off the thermostat to let water run freely... or it was a huge whole, who knows... junk it...
@josephbohme79177 жыл бұрын
Scotty KILMER SAYS: Take out the worst offending wet plug- leave it out. helps sealer to not have to fight so hard, remove thermostat, during sealing--run thru at full 1000 rpm- put a clamp on it if you have to, start with clean antifreeze and add as needed during 30 minutes then cool engine and run the cycle 2+ times before giving up ''operator error''

+Chris Samurai - On the Bottle it said you DO NO need to remove the Thermostat! I think in his case, it's too much! In the Video, he stated that his Coolant was blowing out if Tile Pipe and you can see tons of it. NOTE: In my case, it was small leaks and it worked in 25 Minutes! Here is the Video I made: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b551eaqIttnOnWg.html

did it overheat at some point or is it low on coolant?
@ericamccall22888 жыл бұрын
It low on coolant
@EmpowerVideoNOW8 жыл бұрын
+Erica Mccall yea it's probably blown you can pull the spark plugs and see if there is mosture in there. if you clean them all out it may start but it will just happen again. also check your radiator cap the rubber seal may be damaged wich caused the water to boil out and overheat the engine....however that won't fix a blown head gasket the damage is already done.
@Metallion6910 жыл бұрын
before you put that stuff in, you need to flush the radiator, and disconnect the thermostat, plus when you run it, your heater should be on maximum setting.
@Freekygrandma10 жыл бұрын
Yea I agree. He probably should have drained all the old coolant out first. And it probably wouldn't have hurt to change the clogged hose before attempting to use steel seal. We just ordered a bottle. I also heard that you should first drain the radiator, remove the thermostat, remove the spark plug that is wet with coolant, then add steel seal and a gallon of distilled water (it has to be distilled), turn heater on max. Let it run for 60 minutes. Then let cool off for about 30 min. Once it does the job, I heard you should drive for 500-1000 miles then flush again and put in regular coolant. Not Dexcool or Extended Life Coolant (SS is not compatible with these). People who have done it this way have gotten better results than those who just poured SS in and drove. I hope this works for us and anybody else.

I would recommend getting a mechanic or friend who works on car to check it out. if you have a lemon law in your state I think you have 30 days and you can make the previous owner return it if they sold you a bad vehicle (never used this just reserch your state laws)
@MJ-nd5xh8 жыл бұрын
+Erica Mccall white smoke is a sign of blown head gasket. Look in the radiator and see if it's bubbling looks like boiling. If it is it's a blown head gasket.

None of this stuff works if the leak is too big. An it don't really completely stop it, it jus slows it. its better off replacing the gasket cause over time this stuff WILL damage yer engine, as much as I hate to say it.
@donaldfafard9 жыл бұрын
HOW does it damage the engine ? Fixing Tough Head Gasket Leaks .
@jake462239 жыл бұрын
AZ DONALD the block has small ports that runs to ports on the head that circulate's the water from the block to the head he head gasket is there to seal not only the combustion chamber but ports between the head and the block if there clogged it will build up way to much presser and either crack the head or the block if left to long its better just to replace the gasket
@mattmills13138 жыл бұрын
not only that, but if the gasket is busted where the combustion chamber is, not only is oil getting into the combustion chamber, but the gasket fixer as well, which will damage the piston rings, and crankshaft friction bearings. which in this products humble return leaves you with over $4000 in repairs to the engine.

K...what about them noting (Bars Leak at least), to turn your heater on and have it blowing high while it idles? I've got a car that has no heater, or fan or blower. They say that step is IMPORTANT. Is using Bars Leak or whatever product worthless if I don't have a heater to run during the "test"? And wait...you idled your car for nearly TWO HOURS?!!?? lol I'm sure it got no hotter after let's say 45 minutes up to the 2 hour mark, or at least at SOME point it reached maximum temp well before 2 hours. Also, why not DRIVE the car? Why just run this stuff through while the car is at an idle?
@StarTrooper477 жыл бұрын
You don't use Bars leak! it is only for crate motors (v8) and I will answer your question about not heater core. Bypass your heater hose to your engine block and it will create more circulation for the coolant to flow better chance to seal it and make sure you remove your thermostat out.
@jgamble4829 жыл бұрын
Is it me or did he mention that the car didn't have an alternator in it ... hence the reason for why he had to connect the car's battery to his van in order to get it to turn over and run for an hour?

What better way to fuck up the thermostat and overheat the engine! STOP LEAK:D
@humpy9368 жыл бұрын
Run it without the thermostat in it, I have used steel seal before and it worked very well.
@mattmills13138 жыл бұрын
Running it without the thermostats even worse. the enginge wont have anything to help rugulate its temperature. shit can hit the fan. examples like eventually getting missfires, coolant temperature errors in the computer codes, wich will damage the ecm/pcm, no pressure on the coolant system resulting in too cold/hot engine, damage to the heater cor, and worse case senerio, cracked engine block, and etc etc.
@humpy9368 жыл бұрын
+Matt Mills, I obviously meant run the engine without the thermostat only during the sealant process. It would also be a good idea to run the engine without the spark plug where the head gasket is blown. Common sense goes a long way, the idiot in this video obviously let the engine run extremely hot by not keeping an appropriate amount of coolant available.
@mattmills13138 жыл бұрын
That would make more sense. But i still prefer replacing the gasket. cause in the long run, shit will eventually break again.
