I broke my driver's switch today, found this video while shopping, and fixed it in the parking lot before driving home. Thank you!

Fixed the issue per the instructions in the video. I walked out of my house at 1:51pm with two kids in tow (1 and 4). Strapped them safely in their car seats and was walking back in the house with the kids by 1:59. The video was an absolute lifesaver....thank you Lord for you and KZfaq. Mercedes was trying to charge me a $178 diagnosis fee plus whatever the cost to replace the button with labor. No thanks...a quick Google search brought me here. Thank you again!

Just letting you know that this is still very useful. I just followed your instructions and now don't have to be embarrassed at the drive-up ATM or drive-thru. I ordered a whole unit for $20 but will just pop out the needed button from that one and replace. Also just saved myself the headache of removing the entire door panel to replace the entire assembly. 👍

Just found this video today after the drivers switch broke on my GL450. Swapped it out with one of the rear switches from the panel and it saved the day. Thank you so much for this! I would have never thought of doing this

OH MY GOOOOODDDD!!!! you just saved me from endlessssss nagging from my husbadn!!! I went to a detailing shop, safelite, jiffylube and a mechanic behind a shell station!! An army of men that cannot help in any way shape or form. I watched your video and seriously it took me a minute to fix the problem! I had to use a steak knife to start to wedge the plastic button up and then a butter knife to pop it all the way on my 2013 GL450. But it worked and in three minutes! Thanks so much. If only the rest of my life could be as simple as this fix…

Oh my goodness I just fixed mine on the drivers side. Thank you so very much. Before I was afraid of breaking something but it popped right out.

Window stopped working as I left work and headed home. Did I tell you it was raining slightly. I got home and called the hubster and then I googled my issue and ran across this video. OMG!!!! It worked and I am a female with very limited knowledge regarding car repairs. This saved us as the hubster had already called the dealership and they gave him a quote of $300-$500.

Awesome video. Thanks so much. I never thought to interchange the button for the rear window. Instead I stuck a little piece of plastic and used it to move the little arm up and down to open and close the window. I came across the video while looking for how to change the entire window switch panel on the drivers door which i was just about to order.

I haven't got a spare button because I drive a base model w169 but removing the button helped so much! I broke it on the way to work and it was raining. Had to shrink wrap it because I didn't have time to fix it but watched this video at work and fixed it before I set off home..
