Thanks, did you get a switch, or master Panel….? My Auto , Driver Wi Dow does NOT go UP & stops sometimes, etc, All other windows ok power ( no AUTO DOWN PASSENGER , 2015 DODGE Journey)?.I am thinking of popping off “ AUTOL” switch, seeing what ?

Here’s a simple tip I got from this and another video. Look for the two colored wires that control which door you are having the issue with. You may need to remove the door or find schematic. You may also have a connection with two small grey wires on one of the contacts. Take a paper clip between the two wire connection and a main wire. Get a piece of wire from the other unused wire and touch ground and it will roll up or down. It didn’t short my system.

My passenger side window won't open from its own window switch or the main driver's switch either. Would replacing the passenger side switch resolve the issue for the driver's side access also?

Great explanation! I did it yesterday, and didnt work, now I remember it seems to be a power problem ,the+ and '-' has had very little power, fuse ok,may be a bad contact somewhere.I' ll take a look again.

I had a similar issue where it was only sending 9v. I spliced in 12v into it and it worked to get the windows up. Going to try and find the issue before I start rolling them down again

THANK YOU.. VERY HELPFUL. i HAVE BEEN PAYING MECHANICS TO HELP SOLVE THIS AND THEY CHARGE A SENIOR SO MUCH AND NOTHING CHANGES... I WISH I COULD FIND REAL MECHANICS IN MY STATE.

Thanks….interestingly, my Driver side “ AUTO” switch works fine on DOWN/only: seems to “ STOP”occasionally on “ UP WINDOW “ just last few days…2015 Journey ( no “Auto “on passenger, & other 3 Windows work fine !

It's honestly bumming me out just seeing the empty parking space when I get home from a long walk or a short run. Sorry for piling my baggage on you. I'm probably not that important to you anyway.

Or you could just take the switch from the back seat and see if it fits on the front seat switch plug I tried it on my Lexus gx 470 and it worked perfectly

. If the windows roll down using their own switch but not with the master switch would it be a bad motor or a bad switch?

Definitely not the motor, because it works from a different switch. You either have a bad switch or a wire broke between the door and the body of the car

Using this trick you're bypassing the switch, so if the trick worked - your switch must be bad, and yes usually you can buy a new switch at a parts store. Good luck!

Your window motor must be getting old (weak). On some cars you can replace just the motor, on others - you have to replace the whole window regulator assembly.

No, This trick helps you determine if the switch is the problem, that's not a shame. A shame would be blindly replacing window parts without checking anything, just to find out that it didnt fix the problem.

I think the poster is an expert at this. However, the average Joe the plumer and aunt Sally might not be able to understand clips and electricity. It is been said be careful you do not connect directly + to - . You could cause fire and loose your Honda Civic.. and your insurance goes up. It will be easier to buy the Entire window master switch replacement or the regulator and its components. Correct, Not taking a risk is a risk in itself, but lets be safe and lets die of natural causes not inside the car engulfed in fire. Hope you like my post.

Modern vehicles have a processor in the switch that sends a bus signal to the body control module then it sends power back to the window. Your “hack” is not going to work on most cars today.

Sounds like a connection problem, may be your switch is bad.. Hard to say - need to test it when it's not working
