AWESOME!! This worked, not with a coffee cup, but with another cylindrical object. Keeping upper hole smaller than the larger opening seems to make a huge difference (tried several diff objects w/diff hole sizes). Thanks for the great idea!! I now have a normal-looking speaker for my Fender Acoustasonic PR-370 amp.

This is by far the best method! Using duct tape or a vacuum can be risky and certainly not worth using just to save a few seconds. Thanks for sharing 👍

Great idea, one to try 1st before some of the more risky ones on youtube. The dents do affect the sound on many speakers

Great video. I gave me an idea and I used a shop vac. The speakers sound so much better now. Pressed in cones screw up the sound really bad because the speakers don’t bounce.

After using the big cup to get rid of the big dents, use a smaller cup or a tube on the smaller dents. I suspect small areas will be able to handle higher vacuum without damage.

I tried it with several cups before I got it right with the Vacuum Cleaner. 😀 Anyway, thank you for the tip! 👍

for some speakers u can even use duct tape or shipping tape, just apply it and pull it off slowly and the dent will eventually tug back out

Adding a little heat from a hairdryer really helps bring out the little dents. The heat when applied carefully softens the material to help reforming to take place.

An easier way, if you get your Hoover, and turn it up on full, put the nozzel right up against the speaker so there is no gaps, and then Turn on your hoover for about 5 - 10 minutes.

Dents in th dust cap of a woofer will not affect sound, but it looks ugly. So, yeah, some method to pull out the dent is welcome. Also- if you want to sell the speakers, you'll do better if they look nice. Dented dust caps might mean you didn't take good care of them, and no one wants to pay good money for speakers that may have been abused.

Royal3ra Beats absolutely not....I spent hours trying to make this work on a much smaller cone-only did I fix it once I warmed it up with a hair dryer..heat makes material expand. It "loosens' it up-on a molecular level.
