In this video I show you what to do if you have a sprinkler head that is leaking water everywhere after the sprinklers are turned off. I take you through step by step of the most likely cause. Sprinkler systems can be a pain to work on but with this guide I hope to provide a clear step by step solution to the most common problem.

Wow this video really helped me, not very good with sprinklers I replaced the sprinkler head and still was leaking from the top even though it was off. This is the only KZfaq video I found that really explains it ! Thanks so much for the detailed step-by-step with explanation.

I had the same problem. 5 of my backyard sprinkler heads were leaking. Figured there was no way all went bad at the same time. Found your video and it helped me learn how to bleed the air out of the system. No more leaks! Thank you!!!

Hello Toad..did try the same steps but the leak did not stop. May be valve might be damaged. Anyway thanks for the suggestion.

In the valve box, 1 of the 4 is square and screwed in, which is like the one I'm dealing with. How do you handle that one?

How many sprinkler heads were attached to your zone control valve? Just the one? If the zone control valve was defective, all the sprinkler heads attached should have leaked.

Brother! I replaced to a new Hunter PGV valve,all the pvc pipes, 3/4” and 1”bought 5 new Hunter pro 40 spray sprinkler heads with check valves, 5 mp rotating tips, 5 Hunter Swing joints 3/4 to 1/2 and stool this crap don’t stop leaking after turned off

My zone all of a sudden quit working and the first sprinkler head leaks from the ground. I changed out the selinoid and confirmed water is getting to the valve. When rotating the selinoid, the sprinklers don’t come on for that zone. I either have blockage or a clogged diaphragm.

I have the same problem, I’ve done the exact things in the video and my sprinkler still leaks what would be the next step? I’m almost thinking I have low head drainage but it never stops, I’m considering buying sprinkler heads that prevent that but not sure yet. Thank you
