Thanks for this. The little rubber thing underneath the button was out of alignment on mine which was making the button sort of squishy but not to the point where it got stuck. I pushed down on the side that was raised up with the qtip and now it works perfectly

I’m sad this didn’t work out for me, but at least I was able to learn something new, give it a try, and narrow down my options. Now I know for certain that I need a new controller (it’s the same one I got with this console back in 2015, so it’s definitely time). In any case, thanks for the video! I’m glad I got to learn it, and I’ll keep it in mind in case a friend has this issue!

This saved my life, If anyone has L1 or R1 stuck inside problem and even if you pop and put the button again does not work follow the steps (Worked for me) 1-) Pull out the R1 or L1 (Which one is stuck whatever you do) 2-) Look inside of the button and you will see a plastic surface(which is the place that renders your input its really easy to see which is the only thing in there) and in the MIDDLE OF THAT SURFACE there is a small circle/dot that stuck inside 3-) You need to have a thin sharp pointed something like a toothpick and pull that small circle out (Just gently play with it and you'll see something going to pop up) 4-) After you pop up you need to put it back (once again gently) to it's place and put your button back

Awesome thanks! The actual rubber button inside was stuck for me and I was able to clip a piece of rebar wire and place it in the hole for the piece that pushes it. Works just fine now.!

when i pull out the l1 there’s still a thing that stays in the middle the button comes off but something stays there from the botton

Bought my PS4 and controller second hand, I thought that the r1 button sticking was enough to buy a new controller as it was that annoying, you saved me £50 so thanks
