Hi Billermans if you have lost some oil it will certainly not pump up it will keep dropping down so just top up the hydraulic oil up a little amount at a time untill the chair stays up after pumping up Thanks for watching my video Richard

Hi recently acquired an second hand barber's chair myself, and the pump is not working. It did work before normally, but with moving the chair we had to take apart the foot & chair, and some oil slipped out. Could it be that we should just refill the oil?

Is it possible to get a taller rod for a taller hair dresser to help rise up the chair so she doesn't have to bend down all the time .?

Hi Nate Thank you for watching my channel in answer to your question I can’t see a reason why you can’t get a taller rod it may be worth contacting a saloon chair manufacturer to see if the can help you or advise where you could get one made up Thanks Richard

Hello, how do I know how much oil to put into salon chair? Do you add oil until it reaches where you put the oil in? Thanks 😊

Hi Bethany yes that’s what I done hold the leg up and pour into hole untill it comes out from where your filling you will know if you need to add any more as when you pump up the chair the peddle will be soft hope that helps Richard x

Hi Ach tats The pump will have o rings. ( oil seals ) these perish after time and allow fluid to leak past them especially when they are under pressure when the foot peddle is pumped 👍

@@douglassheehan6690 you really do need to strip it down there could be eternal damage inside without a full strip you will not now … to much hydraulic oil could cause this if you have recently topped it up best to strip down 🤙

Hi frogicutz After researching for what oil seal will fit the salon chair I found these seals on eBay Nitrile rubber rotary shaft oil seal You will need to measure internal and external measurements of the original soil seal I’ve used this one in our salon chair for 6 months with no issues or leaks how that helps Thank you for commenting on my channel Regards Richard

Hi Richard I have 2 salon chairs that won’t go down I’m going to try and repair it myself Have you got any ideas on how? Is it maybe because there’s no oil? Hope you can help Thanks 😊
