How To Fix an OTF Switchblade Misfire

In this video Sam discusses a common problem with OTF auto knives. Often OTF knives misfire or come off track. If you are new to the OTF world then you may think it is broken but 95% of the time, it just needs oil or lubrication.
WD-40 is more of a cleaning agent so we definitely recommend that if you have been carrying your knife. Lint, dirt and other debris can get down in the firing mechanism causing it to misfire. To lubricate the knife, any REM or Gun/Knife oil will work. Every company has their preference but WD-40 is what we tell most people because just about everyone has that already in their home. #otfknives #switchblade #eknives

Yep, I have the same knife and always have that issue. I finally took it apart after a few years of using WD40 to get it going again to see how much crap was built up in there… well… it was actually spotless still, so the WD40 is the only real thing needed here to get them going… not even a full take-down and cleaning is needed and I’m a GC and get crap all over my knives.

Answer the phone! Lol. Thanks for the video, I clean em a very similar way too. Ymmv, but what I personally do is: disengage blade blade from carriage(just fire it into the rug or whatever), shake it around under some soapy water, dump out, spray inside and out with aerosol iso alcohol, blow out w duster, let dry, few drops of marine tuf-glide(why ppl use other stuff is beyond me) on top of blade, button side, open/close a few times, then blow w duster inside to spread it around. I somehow have a bad habit of always getting sand in mine, and this is what has always worked great for me;)

So i jus bought a hera 2 microtech last week and its great but sometimes but not all the time i can have the button pushed all the way up to where its supposed to fire and theres like a delay b4 it fires sometimes it doesn't do it everytime jus sometimes what could be causing this?

Andi just noticed it does it when I've got the button pushed down more into the crud cutter meaning I press down on the button while I'm sliding it if that makes sense
