What you need in order to successfully UN-BRICK your PS3 Console
1.
A USB that’s been formatted to FAT 32. Try using any USB that has 32GB or Less in order to format it easily. On this video I’m showing a simple way of formatting your USB to FAT32 but if you are using anything bigger than 32GB, then watch another KZfaq video on “how to format 32GB and higher to FAT32”

You will also need a SATA Adaptor Cable. I’ve posted the Amazon link at the bottom, but you can use any other supplier.

Nobody on the other walkthrough/tutorials talk about the hard drive formating, very thorough and very easy to follow. After the whole process, make sure to set your Auto Update to OFF. --> Go to SETTINGS --> Scroll Down To SYSTEM SETTINGS --> The very firs line will say "Automatic Update". Make sure it's set OFF. this will prevent any future updates that goes against your mods.

My PS3 Fat was bricked and I fixed it using 2 PS3s and I formatted the HDD using my PS3 Super Slim and reinstalled the firmware on the PS3 Super Slim and then I put the HDD back into my PS3 Fat. I did that same thing again on my PS3 Fat and then it was fixed!

If you bricked your PS3 while jailbreaking*PS3HEN* like I did stupidly - READ THIS (to save some time) Don't worry about downloading the official update/install file from the Playstation website. You can use the HFW file you were already using for the jailbreak. Copy the (HFW) PS3 folder to your formatted PS3 hard drive. HD back into your PS3. Insert the USB Drive too. Turn it on and follow the install instructions. It will install a fresh version of the OS (with the specific HFW shiz in that install). Install it once again (as most jailbreak instructions advise to) via the USB install method. Then you are back to just before where you "may" have messed up. (then at least you don't have to then format the USB with the jailbreak install and then install that 2 times...)

I did everything like this and it kind of worked. The same screens came up for me but once it started formatting, at around 50% I got the same error message and went back into the system update loop. Any advice?

If same error appears, that means your SSD never got cleared/erased properly (Thats why your console displaces the same error code) Make sure to use proper SATA cable and connected firmly. Also make sure you select the correct ssd

I can't get the write protection off of my hdd ps3 drive. I tried ease tool and partition on windows. No luck. I even tried cmd prompt to format my ps3 80gb hdd. I am getting the boot loop on installing system update each time I restart my ps3.

Mine happen like this but then when we sent to technician it’s look like it’s ok but we don’t know that it won’t read ps3 disc bcz of what I heard the technician change the system or some thing I dunno much about this stuff do you know what to do about this can this method can be used for my problem ?

This method only erases all the data (including corrupt) from SSD, it should not have effected the disc reader. It seems like the technician might have switched the blue ray disc reader or the console entirely.

Did your PS3 run into same issue before jailbreak ? If no, then your PS3 is rejecting the mod. Which means your PS3 is not compatible with available mods. Is your PS3 one of those slim ones ?

@@ismaeelkhan9511 we got a thing in south africa called "loadshedding" where our countrys energy supplier has been so mismanaged by a corrupt government, that every day, all grids around the country are systematically turned off for a couple hours at a time in rotation... there is actually an app that gives us the loadshedding schedule if youll believe it!

To fix this problem, if you had a blackout during a PS3 update, you can fix it either by formatting your HDD with an adapter on your computer or you can try to format it with another PS3 and it will, tell you to reinstall the firmware like the other way in this reply but it will tell you to reinstall the firmware on your PS3 that is okay and then the bricked PS3, getting a new HDD or an SSD and if none of them work, then you can use an E3 Flasher if you dumped your NAND or NOR chip if you had a bad NAND or NOR chip. BTW, I think that the E3 Flasher will only work on the PS3 Fat (Phat) and the PS3 Slim if you have a PS3 Slim that is model CECH-25xxA or CECH-25xxB or lower because these are the only CFW compatible PS3s.

Is your USB higher than 32GB in capacity ? And you manage to format the stick to FAT32 ?

Try to format the SSD again and using a deferent USB and formate it to FAT32 and make sure you name the following files as specified in video. Creat a new file, PS3 (inside that file)-> Creat a new file, UPDATE (inside that file the actual software update -> PS3UPDAT.PUP

Yes it should. Because if you had access to run Multi-Man or Web-Man that means your console was jailbroken with software older than 4.87 thus for when your console went through the latest update (4.87) it interfered and bricked the console.

The system could not recognize the USB stick. Mostly due to it’s not being formatted to FAT 32 properly. Try reformatting or using another USB stick

@@milanlukic1063 it sounds like the system did not find any updates from USB stick. Make sure you format the USB to FAT32, Before you transfer the System Update (PS3UPDAT.PUP) Also question, before you formatted your SSD, did you have the Error Code 8002F334 ?

@Funky production the main reason your PS3 cannot detect latest software is due to USB stick not being properly formatted to FAT32. Try these steps, 1. Try re-formatting the your USB Stick and only placing the PS3 software update file inside it (nothing else) 2. Make sure your files are named correctly (PS3 -> UPDATE -> PS3UPDAT.PUP) 3. Stick the USB stick to the LEFT port of the PS3 (for some people that worked) Follow this guid on formatting the USB stick to FAT 32 m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gKloaM501tHTmn0.html

There’s another option but it’s a bit complicated. If you have an older PC that you no longer use, You can pull its SSD card and insert it into your PS3. Compare the shape and size of the SSD before you pull it out of your PC tho

well its defo the hard drive. i pulled out the plug of my ps3 during software update and it fcked it. tried using it on my other ofw ps3 and it still didn't work. i fcked both of my hard drives XD but thank god i don't have to waste 60+ euros on a new one =)
