Thank you soooo much for making this video. Google several other youtube videos but their system is slightly different than ours. I had the same situation where the touch screen didn’t respond to my fingers. I also try plugging in a usb keyboard and still didn’t work. I was about to give up and saw your video and saw that you were able to make it work with a usb keyboard. So this time I actually had the usb keyboard plugged in before turning on the system. IT WORKED!!!! So it made a difference for me when the keyboard was plugged in. If i plugged in while the system was on it didn’t see the keyboard. Weird…such a niche product so I really appreciate you taking the time to make the video.

This worked for me. I just pressed the reset button with the keyboard plugged in, then just bashed ENTER 5 or 6 times. The screen then glitched, so I stopped, and the unit opened up as normal. Nothing was lost, and now works fine. Thanks

I just got this issue!! Great idea! I will try to fix mine! Just another issue I have, and wanna know it you felt the same.. I experienced a lot of radiofrequency interference on my VHF radio and I realize that the main cause is the head unit, so I used some ferrite and installed a on/off button on acc for communication on week signals on VHF. Regards.

Thank you for your video and explanation. I did try the USB wired keyboard method but the unit would not recognize it, therefore I couldn't restart the *try again* After emailing seller, he advised to simply slide one finger up or down in the screen ( as your video shows) if you need to change function of reboot . Then slide finger left or right to simulate the ENTER . I just swiped finger left to right as system was on *try again* prompt and it worked. Hope I've helped someone who has similar issues.

I was not able to enter the recovery mode…your trick to use the keyboard actually worked for me I was not able to touch anything on screen and then i used the keyboard and able to reset the device thanks a lot man….🙏🏻👍

Thanks for the info, just incase anyone was wondering, I hit many combinations of screen corners and it rebooted not sure which one worked. I think it might be top left bottom left bottom right top right.

Thank you! For me, the keyboard didnt work at first, I kept it plugged in and clicked the RST button, after it restarted I was able to click Try again with my keyboard and it started working again.

thanks for the video solved my issue as well but just a NOTE; for people who doesn't have reset on the device like the mercedes GLK devices a reset can be done by removing the cables to battery for 5 seconds and put it back

Now for everyone, wich cant use they Keyboard over USB. If you Connect your Keyboard to the USB. Press ALT+Print hold the 2 Buttons and Press I or E . After this you cant use your Keyboard and choose your Option in want

where did you plug the keyboard in? I don't have a usb port in my glove box. I have 2 USB ports on the DIN2 radio itself, but only the wireless mouse reacts to the radio. I can then switch back and forth between try again and recovery, but I can't select it. I despair. Unfortunately, I only have this wireless mouse and keyboard with the USB connector. both should respond to the USB plug. but only the mouse does it... if I click with the mouse, nothing happens

My system didn't load further than logo and i also got stuck at recovery screen, not being able to move or select anything, but thanks to your video i remembered i had seen an usb coming out somewhere and plugged my wireless usb in and could get it to work again !

Nice video. Came across it while looking for a solution to a different problem, but on my head unit, clicking the reset button factually allows me to scroll through the options and holding it allows me to select an option. Not the same unit but a similar one.

For others, in future, you don't need a keyboard. Tapping the screen will toggle through menu, and long tapping the screen will choose what is currently highlighted.

Plugged in the keyboard, wouldn't respond. Pushed the reset on the front of the radio, nothing. Pulled the radio fuse, waited 30s. Turned the radio on, keyboard worked, problem solved. Thanks for sharing the information.

I got this screen on my mobile device (UleFone Armor 9) and I thought everything was gone from my device. I just ended up turning the device off and on again and it started up the way it normally does. No idea why it happened, but it's fixed now. First it was Windows with the "blue screen of death" and now we have the Android "black screen of death" haha

For days ive been Iooking on the internet for solutions to my philips android tv, i installed usb with wipedatatool, i tried to do update from usb with original firmware, i tried to reboot, i tried to find the wipe data in the bootloader but it isnt there (i even tried 1-2-x-4 method) i can only choose REBOOT NOW or UPDATE FROM EXTERNAL but when i choose one of those 2 options i get a black screen with android laid on its back and saying NO COMMAND. I cant acces the tv with ADB neither because the usb debugging wasnt enabled before i lost acces to the tv. Its a Philips 7600 series LED I dont know what to do anymore help!

What if you accidentally hit factory reset, and now mostly all apps are gone. I see apk installer and about 12other apps. But how do you install google chrome or any web browser so that I can download other apps?

The keyboard didn’t work for me but balboa1203’s comment did. Joying Snapdragon unit. The trick was extremely long full screen swipes up and down to move the selection and a long full screen swipe to the right to indicate enter. 3/4 length swipes weren’t enough. I selected “try again” and it started right up.

I don't have any little hole for the rest. My 2017 Honda pilot head unit stopped working when I tried to Honda hack it!!! Any suggestions? Obviously it would not have helped you in this situation, but it makes me wonder if a Bluetooth keyboard can be paired up. I have the 2nd gen seicane too (thanks to your video series on it) the only thing I did different was I added a 8 channel RCA switch to run my back up cams. your ordeal here hasn't happened to me yet... but it'll be nice to know I can recover if it does, thanks!

On my stereo there is a car setting thing where in the settings you had to relearn the keys and there is a spot also to illuminate the keys but you still have to calibrate the keys or called touch learning

I try to upgrade my unite to vivid 10 n this is what happend. when i reboot the radio by unpluggin the power from the back n plug it back again boot to img logo them stay there when i restart by holding it with a little paper clip sends me to the recovery mode but i only get black screen with the led on.
