Married 21 years. Historically, fastest way to start a fight? Attempt to fix something. Thank you Leah, with the help of your videos we now have working date nights. We fix something TOGETHER and then go out to eat after we clean up. The house is on the mend. More importantly, I have rediscovered why I fell in love with my wife. I am grateful.

Great tutorial Leah..... Just a couple points if you don't mind. I have been doing drywall repairs for over 25 years and can tell you the product being used is watered down white glue. I have been making and using this product for many years. 1 part premium white glue, Lepages or Weldbond brand and 2 parts water. Apply just as shown in the video. One tip when applying your drywall compound.... When applying always thoroughly mix your compound before use and wipe it on one direction and wipe or scrape it off the opposite direction, that works it into the loose edges of the paper better. You can also add the white glue to your paint, 1 cup glue to a gallon of latex paint to cover stains without them bleeding through. No oil paint needed. Good Job Leah

GotU Productions - thanks for the tip! I've havent heard of using white glue in latex paint to help cover stains. Does it change the sheen of the paint? Would sure be a lot cheaper than using a stain blocking paint. And save a quite of bit of time. Thanks again, will definitely be using that tip in the future!

I bought some of that sealer a little wile ago to make repairs on a lath & plaster wall. There was a spot on the wall that had water damage and the plaster had became crumbly. I didn't want to make a big job bigger, so I soaked the plaster with this product. I let it dry for 24 hours. the sealer bound the crumbly plaster back to a solid foundation. Repairs made, no problem. Great stuff. Worth the $$$. Probably not the exact intended application for this sealer. But it worked.

Leave it to Leah to bring another great product here. Years ago when Zinsser first brought this product to market I was in a paint store and the sales rep was showing it to the store owner. He asked me if I give you a gallon would you try it and give me your feedback on it, I use many gallons of it yearly and it yields excellent results every time. I am so pleased to see Leah do this video as you will truly benefit from applying it to your walls and ceilings. It's especially useful when removing wallpaper and even with scrubbing the adhesive off there are always trace amounts of residual adhesive left. This product seals the glue and the fresh paint will not soften it and cause problems. Again GREAT demo Leah, you're a gem.

Love you Leah. I have always loved doing things with wood but never have had much confidence. I am a nearly 72 year old woman and my husband is finally putting a heater in our garage. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. We live in Colorado and as you may know working outside is not real easy in the winter even though our winters can be pretty mild. I have watched so many of your videos and have learned so much. Everytime you put something new on that I don't have, I have to get it. I am always running too the hardware store or going on line. Keep up the great work and continue with a smile on your face. In my senior years, I am having fun learning. Thank God for You Tube and thanks to all of you that continue to share your knowledge. This issue has just come up and really didn't want to do drywall because there is no need at this point.

Years ago when I was painting my daughters bedroom the new paint I was rolling on caused the old paint to start coming off in big sheets! Needless to say I was panicked, we had a friend Harry Russel who had been doing drywall for over 30 years. He saved the day by telling me to go get a gallon of concrete sealer. I painted those walls with it and it sucked all that loose paint on like magic. Never forgot that tip. The concrete sealer looked exactly like the product you were using and is available at any Home Improvement store. I have since then owned several businesses and become a Custom Decorator and had my Contractors license prior to semi retirement. I love showing and teaching people how to have the home of their dreams on their budget. It’s all about spending money in the right places. One other tip. Thin your drywall compound and it will work much smoother and also save finish time. Thank you for your videos and the time you give to others!

Good video Jane. 50 years ago An older painter/plasterer/drywaller told me to use shellac on torn paper when drywall paper gets torn or glue residue from wall paper being removed. He said spray, roll, or brush it on and when dry sand it smooth then give it a skim coat of mud and it should be good for paint. On the rare occasion you may need a second coat but I haven’t yet. It works great. Keep up the great content. Ron

OMG, Leah, you are a lifesaver! I'm currently removing 3 layers of wallpaper from the master bathroom. The first two layers are coming off fine using a vinegar solution, but the layer against the sheetrock is old and thick with glue, and no matter how careful I've been, it continues to tear the sheetrock paper. Your solution for how to fix this issue is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful knowledge!

Leah, I was able to find the Gardz sealer at Menards. I live in Michigan. I couldn't find it anywhere else I looked. It was $20 for a gallon. I bought the quart for $10 because I didn't need much. That Gardz worked great!!!! Thank you for the recommendation.

Wow! This was exactly what I was looking for. I have some torn dry wall paper in the bathroom. This video was well done, short & sweet. When I was looking for this kind of video on KZfaq, a bunch of them popped up that were 15 to 30 min long! Again, Leah come through with short yet very instructive videos. Thanks again!

We are dealing w this problem. We bought an older house that had paint over the wallpaper. We decided to just pull it all off. and it left big brown paper problems. I looked at a lot of vids and tho seems like a waste to time, should have come here first, lets me appreciate once again how Leah simplifies it. Now i think i can do this. ;) Just might have to wait for the GARDZ as it prob still isnt shelf item per a recent revw on the home store website. Thanks again Leah!!

You're welcome, Leonard, glad to be of help! If it helps at all, I put a link to the Gardz on Amaon in the video description...it seems that a lot of home improvement stores don't carry it.

Just what I need, I had rain come in sideways into the stovepipe, and the ceiling got soaked with the drywall ceiling crumbling down. I had no idea how to fix as just using the texture paint wasn't sticking, and now I know the rest of the story on how to do the job properly, thanks to "See Jane Drill! "

I will watch for more videos from you. Thank you so much for making a job of repairing drywall look so easy. I had watched a couple other videos before I found you. I gave up watching them, because they either took too long to get to the information I needed, or they weren't very good at explaining the project. I am so happy I found you! Keep up the good work!

Jane, I just love you! You are without a doubt one oof the best teachers I've EVER seen. I wonder if you teach classes because I could imagine a class full of young people with no direction, but good work ethic getting so much from shop classes with you. If I was the mayor of a community I'd pull a budget together & pay you to offer classes, but I'm not, so oh well!

Hey Leah. I love that you just explain everything in detail and completely without throwing a bunch of yada yada in there. I was listening to on “expert” and I guess he probably got to the point. I say probably because after 15 minutes of nothing chatter I had to leave. Your video popped up. I said why not? Awesomeness. Thank you.

Nice tip, Leah! Good old-fashioned shellac works well for that, too. It also does a great job blocking stains that want to migrate up through new paint.

Thanks Leah. Love the step through...I have a two wall project that had wallpaper but it wasn't coming off without a fight. So it came off iln strips. of course it left it's own paper behind and took drywall paper off...so lots of hills and valleys. Going to use a 14" trowel and hand bucket after the sealer (have a big area), light sand and then the 2nd coat of each. Thanks again...Peace

I would watch Leah do *anything*, my freak-out over my chipping walls has completely gone away watching this. My issue isn't about drywall but I can't find what I'm looking at so I found this and I *think* it could be a solution. I have plaster walls in an upstairs bedroom that has been wallpapered and then covered with some kind of flat cardboard (so, not corrugated) and the cardboard or tagboard sheeting was painted over with wall paint. And now it is chipping in places. And it is really kind of odd in the corners because cardboard doesn't create a perfect fold for the corners...it kind of looks saggy. Anyway, it's a mess and I didn't know what to do. I think this could be what we use! Thank you, Leah! I am going to watch all of your videos!

Leah - Thank you. I had some ceiling water damage from a roof problem and the wallboard paper bubbled up in several areas. I have been putting off working on it and your video addresses what I need to do and makes it easy. I hope I can match the paint and not need to paint the ceilings in several adjoining rooms.

Get a coupon and go to Sherwin Williams or other quality paint store with a small sample of the dried paint from under a switch plate cover. They will match the paint and write down the formula so you can get more made up if you need it. It will be a bit pricey BUT it's better than having to do those ceilings!
