I ve been having stutter issues recently just all of a sudden.Running an rtx 3060 laptop. Been playing the game since release and no issues with default settings.2k resolution, high settings, dlss to quality and got a good framerate too. But the game suddenly starts to stutter 4 times at around every minute. This happened during beta as well and after trying to fix some issues just watching you tube videos eventually i did a format on my pc. After formatting everything was perfect and smooth for 2 weeks and stutter happened again. Any help? Changing graphics settings doesnt help.

IMHO diablo's 4 choppy movement has to do with networking rather than gfx

Thank you! I started having weird lag/rubberbanding problems with D4 about a week ago and couldn't figure out what was up. The game worked fine for me going all the way back to the free beta/demo. But setting my framerate to 400 and turning off Vsync (two things that seemed really counter intuitive to me) worked.

why did you set max foreground fps to the maximum of 400? does this create more issues? shouldnt you lower the max fps?

i had watch another video saying to put it at your max HZ your monitor are ... my monitor are at 120 .. i had set it to 119... i trust more the other video then this one...

Highly recommend doing this because the frame rate limiter within diablo 4 itself is apparently unstable and buggy. Thats why your seeing people recommend maxing it out like i have. Youre then supposed to use something like nvidia control panel or RTSS/MSI afterburner to limit the fps properly. Itll likely also have a very minute performance gain over using an in game fps limiter in most cases as well.

I played in the closed beta and never had this kind of stuttering and lag. I changed that max fps thing and it helped for now. It's sad that I had little to no issues with the closed beta. We who played did our best to make suggestions and submit bugs, and it seems like the dev team just ignored it and looked concerned when people recommended the same things in open beta and live.

You will NEVER want to set the max FPS at max.. If you have a modern monitor keep it at around the refresh rate of the monitor (e.g. 144 / 165). This is to avoid FPS spikes, spiking up or down can affect gameplay too, and obviously if you have it set to max 400 fps, thats bad.

Normally, that'd be true. But the "trick" of setting D4 to 400fps actually works. Counter intuitive, I know...But I was having a ton of lag/rubberbanding and it made the game unplayable. Doing that and turning off Vsync (which I always have on in games, if given the option) worked for me. Now, I can play D4 with zero lag. It's also been mentioned in Reddit posts and the D4 forum.

This video really only applies to people with older/weaker systems like a 3050/2060 cards or worse. Id say most of the lag in the game is from bad servers/network issues for 90% of people.

@@Joshikp161 the 3050, is somewhere between a 1060 and 1070 in terms of performance, but as an RTX card it can benefit from DLSS. It's a "good enough" card for 1080p medium or low 1440p from a time when you couldn't buy Gpus due to miners and scalpers

@@SirIdiotkid the 2060 works great on 1080p no 60 fps, high texture, rest mostly high, shadows medium....except when it has 0 frames for like one second. i dont think it is the card, although the memory is of course a weakness.

These servers are atrocious. I spent last night trouble shooting on Blizzards forums with some people and all of us discovered were being routed through different countries. For me, located in South Eastern US they are routing me to a server in Amsterdam. VPN's do nothing. Then we looked at our resource monitor and all saw that there was a deadlock in the wait chain. Disabling it crashes the game. I submitted a support ticket two days ago with attached files showing all of this and so far there has been no response. The game is in an unplayable state for me and all my other games work fine online. If/when microsoft takes over I hope they gut this company and get rid of these C minus college graduates that are currently working at blizzard. The lack of response from them indicates that they either have no idea how to fix it or are too cheap to get new and better servers. Sorry to rant but sadly this is the current state at Blizzard.

Diablo 4 fps drops when opening map = turn off hardware-accelrated GPU scheduling(windows 10/11). My HW: RTX 4080 and AMD 7800X3D this has bugged me since i started.

I have brand new pc with rtx 4090 i rolled driver to 532 version and it worked for a day then was server issues they did small update and still doesnt work..

Thx i will try that.. Actually i have the same gfx card as you show.. just the menu is a bit different. I preformed all the steps in game and on windows as well. Once again thx !!! 👍 Gtx from 🇵🇹 and 🇸🇪.

most of you guys are not lagging cos of your graphics...you are lagging cos these mfkers cant maintain a stable network for a 100dollar game..

That's just not the case, server lag doesn't freeze the whole computer and force you to hardware reset the system

Vsync has no option for 'Adaptive' . Only global, 3d, on, off and fast... (running a 3070 Ti with latest drivers)

Lag means it is slow connection NOT hardware or software issues

the game ran perfect on EA launch but once the game went live world wide the game went to shit
