How To Program Key Fob:
1.Close all doors, then open drivers door and press the Unlock button on driver’s door while it is open, insert key into ignition.
2.Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 8 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode. (if the door locks do not cycle, then it was done incorrectly. You must start over by removing key and beginning from step 1)
(Off is the position where you can remove your key, RUN is the position just shy of starting your car.)
3.Within 10 seconds press any button on the first keyless remote to be programmed. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. If you only have one remote then skip to step 5.
4.Within 10 seconds, press any button on the second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle again to confirm programming. Repeat step 4. for all other remotes.
5.Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

Well, my 2008 E350 was having issues with the lock switches on the front doors. I could lock or unlock both doors using the key fob, but the switches wouldn't work. After watching your video I was able to find what looked a relay on the passenger side under the dash. I just reached up in there and wiggled the connectors on the relay and it was a miracle. The lock switches started working perfectly. Thanks. May not work tomorrow, but so far, so good.

Awesome video. I have a 98 expedition that occasionally spazzes out where the door locks AND the horn will go off and on sporadically for about 5 minutes. Sometimes longer, so I have to disconnect the battery. Do you think thats a faulty module, or do you think that's probably a short somewhere?

Just a heads up, not sure if mentioned. If your you have a key-less entry pad and don't know the number, that number on the control module is it as long as its OEM with the vehicle. Thought mine was the actuator but after seeing this I'm thinking more likely the control module. Doors use to lock, not unlock and now they do neither in a years time, and it was a slow slow process watching them dwindle out. Could be either or but nice to know it it might be the module instead of the actuator

Hello, first start off 03 King Ranch crew cab, 4x4. Having somewhat of a similar issue, I can unlock and lock from the driver and the passenger side all 4 doors. No problem, I use my keyless entry pad on the driver's side to unlock no problem. I can go into programming mode, when I push on the fobs that I have, it does not recognize them. I've checked the voltage of the batteries is there something in this module that is responsible for that? Is there a transreceiver in this module? Thank you

I have an '08 sport track. I bought a replacement fob. I went through the programming procedure. But the new fob locks/unlocks with it touching the number key pad. Do you know if there's another underlying problem? Or do I just have a defective fob?

I thought for sure this was my issue had the exact same problems and the relay sounded the same as in the video. However it started “working” again and once you lock it or unlock it it will lock within 2-3 seconds and will continue to lock even when it is and spazzes out. I’m hoping the relay just took a shit I was going to get a soldier kit but then this shit started happening :( the interior lock still doesn’t work tho, unplugged that and still same issue, hoping it’s not a wiring issue.

I've got a similar issue with my 2003 Toyota Altezza (Lexus IS300).. Same symptoms too (except ALL my actuators don't work when I use the key on the driver's side, remote locking/unlocking and the locking/unlocking switch, and the fuses are good).. think I might have to replace my mpx body as well

Do you know what color wire is for the unlock and color for the lock going into this white box ?

Ray Montes not off hand, you can easily remove the switch group on the door panel. At the connector behind the switch should be the color you are looking for, hope this helps!

My grandpa has a Third Generation Ford Taurus. The locks move when you press lock, But they don't unlock. It must be this Power Door Lock & Relay module that has gone bad. But he just uses his key to open the door and got used to it. How much do they typically cost? His key doesn't even have an immobilizer (just a plain key), let alone keyless entry too.

Great video. QUESTION! How did you get the fobs to work after Keyless Entry Module replacement before you programmed them in your video? Orrrr....did you do that right after module replacement and just omit it from the sequence?

@@javrri7212 in my case no. Didn’t have to do anything like that just plug it in and program! There are numbers that you want to match up so that the new one is an exact replacement, you may have an older or newer version that’s not recognizing it! Or the new one you have could be bad also ! Would the reprogram part work on a 04 Lincoln Navigator? I found the VSM/BSM/BCM module in a wrecking yard but haven’t bit the bullet to get it yet if it ain’t easy to reprogram

Most modules are fairly easy to reprogram to key fob , honestly unsure about that year make and model , best bet I would is call the dealer and ask them if there are any dealer only things They’d have to do to get this replaced and that you suspect it’s failing? If it can just be replaced and programmed you might be able to do it yourself without them. I know 2003 and earlier that was ok , not sure what happened after that but I would think it’s something you can do! Thanks for watching hope this helps

I have a key fob issue on my 2007 Ford Explorer sport trac. I can program the fob to my vehicle, it recognizes the fob in programming mode, but after closing that mode the key fobs dont lock or unlock the doors. It doesn’t seem to save my key fob in memory. Any ideas on a fix???

Can you help with my issue? I had no remotes when I bought my 2003 Econoline. I bought two remotes from Amazon and tried to program them to the vehicle. I followed the instructions to program them (rotating 8 times) but the car doesn’t enter “program mode” (door locks don’t activate, etc). Can this be due to a faulty module? Thanks.

It’s possible that the controller can be bad , but also that your remotes are not the right frequency for the controller to recognize them, make sure those are chip correctly for that controller and that the batteries are good 👍🏼 good luck and thanks for watching

On a 2008 F 150, the driver's side door lock pulls down upon pressing the door lock on door panel or remote, but pops back up when you close the door. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries of locking and opening the door and re-locking before it will remain locked. Any ideas on how to get it back to normal?

Oh yeah sounds like a voltage drop somewhere, failing relays or actuator! Do all of them do it or just one?

I have a 2005 F150, when I turn the key 8 times nothing happens, it just chimes being in the ON position. The locks do not make any noise and I don't hear anything under the dash. Does this mean the module is completely shot?

Not sure about the Ford ranger but if I remember all the doors have to be closed, a quick google search my help you on the ranger , this was on an F150 !

I have a 200 Ford E350, when I hit the lock or unlock button it doesn’t seem to have enough power going to fully unlock or lock any of the doors, sometimes I have to hit it a few times other time it won’t work at all, this happens regardless of which door I’m trying to unlock from. Could it be the relay?

Yes , if you have a module like this handy I’d try it, also try these troubleshooting steps, and the next video I show how to repair one! Also bad grounds and loose connections can cause this issue as well, actually my doors would sometimes work on and off before they totally quit! Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

I got a 1999 Ford Econoline and for some reason all of my power locks will lock and unlock except for one not sure why.? It’s the sliding door btw. There is power going through the sliding door because I hooked up a new power lock motor directly to the terminals on the sliding door... does unlock but doesn’t go back down to lock... any help is appreciated!

criticalpunk301 ok check all grounds and if you have a voltage drop, something is not getting good contact, I’ve seen doors have pinched wires in them as well as rusted grounds. Have a 2004 f150 screw. Driver door will lock and unlock. Other 3 will only unlock. Not lock. This is with keyless and door locks. Any ideas?

@ToddHaley nice , thanks for watching! For that it’s possible to be a bad switch , but yes the relays would be in the keyless entry module! If you troubleshoot it the way I explain in the video you will know what’s going on right away, and having a second module never hurts to try I found my for 20 bucks at the local pick n pull ! hope this helps ! So if you said to close all your doors and lock all the locks before starting program mode... why did you open the drivers door?? Reason I ask is I just got an 01, and i'm trying to program a remote. While going through these steps (same as others have said except the doors/locks) I cannot get the truck to cycle the locks so I can program the remote. Have no clue what to do. Haven't seen anybody else have this issue before. And yes... I'm ending in the on position. Any advice??

Good question, not totally sure on that one unless programable! That would be a good question for the dealer, This particular vehicle does not have door buttons/codes. Thanks for watching

Hey man my uncles truck is doing something similar. When u lock the door with the switch on either door they all lock. When u unlock with either switch nothing. I tried your test and the box doesn’t click. I think it’s the box but when u use the keypad on outside they all lock and unlock normal.

Also I did check the wires going from door switch to the module and they showed continuity on both lock and unlock wires. He doesn’t have a working key fob so we can’t check it with that.

Inside that box on the board there’s going to be several different relays I did another video on how to replace that relay if you want to go check out that video it’s the one right after this go ahead and check that one out it may solve your problem and thanks for watching

@@juarezd432 I would do what your uncle’s suggested and replace the whole unit , should be able to get a used one for pretty cheap at a reckon yard, wouldn’t hurt to try! Door locks can be so annoying when not working properly

@@ATEMOFFROAD yes sir we did do that but no luck does the same thing. What are the chances it’s also bad on the same relay? I took apart the old module but wasn’t able to test it directly due to it being different than yours and not knowing the correct pins. I’m not sure what else to check everything test fine.

How i have 2000 expedition when it rains all door locks go crazy at the same time ,even after car is off..then all of a sudden stop working.. it does this off an on..how do I fix this? ..where to start?..thanks In advance

Ineshia Newton 💥 thanks for watching, I would start checking for loose connections at the battery , make sure cables and connections are clean and tight! Check your fuses (no corrosion) , loose or frayed connections in the door , under voltage or bad grounds cause this as well , you may also want to isolate the issue to only work one door at a time until all functions start to come back. If they don’t your problem will be evident. Takes time but it’s doable to make these simple checks, good luck and cheers!

Ineshia Newton I was just saying check the obvious stuff first, before you start removing things , if that all passes I would definitely start at the module and troubleshoot it there the way I show you in the video before replacing it! And of course other things like switches and pinched wires can happen as well at the rubber grommet for the wires are located next to the door hinges , I’ve seen intermittent connections happen there too! But usually when things get wet or low voltage , bad grounds things start to wig out!
