What some people don't understand the drag link and track bar have to be parallel to each other no matter what upgrade you buy !!!!

Yes no suspension lift is meant to be On road. Even in a perfect suspension you might still get a little bump steer, because of the axles arc in motion and the way the suspension cycles. Ideally you want both links completely parallel to the ground. it’s only then greatly reduced if the axle is centered after a lift kit is installed. I personally like to see a combination of frame drop and axle lift at the track bar link mounting locations. that way it’s more parallel to the ground and you don’t sacrifice clearances and suspension up/down travel offroad (slow moving). But then how do you make the drag link parallel to that when the steering box is also on the frame and the knuckle is even further away.? Full Hydro? Think about how far the pitman arm would have to drop or how high you would need to raise the knuckle mount so that the drag link is parallel? It’s not going to be. so we slant the drag link to the knuckle and closely try to replicate that with the Trackbar link. That way the arcs match and is wider with less of a bump steer effect. As long as you keep the track and drag link in the same arc it will greatly reduce this effect. Otherwise there is no such thing as perfect on a 4 link offroad lift suspension. My track bar is designed to be within the same Arc without major modifications to the frame and axle mounts. 🍻

I changed the passenger intake camshaft on my JL and it starts and runs fine but starts misfiring and violently shaking after 30-60 seconds; the CEL light starts flashing and it starts throwing camshaft A/B codes and whatnot. I made sure the timing was correct with the timing marks lined up with cylinder 1 at TDC and 12 pins on the timing chain in between the phasers marks. Any ideas ?

When your were getting Charlie down from the tent, that brought back memories of a time when Jake the boxer dog went camping with me. I took him everywhere with me and like you I had to lift him in and out of my cvt tent. I lost jake bout 8 years ago. Like watching your videos , keep it up

Ahh glad to help bring back the memories in a good light. love taking Charlie wherever I go. She’s my eyes and ears out there. There is ladder I want to get for the other side of the tent that allows her to walk up into the tent by herself. I really want to get one of these ladders it would be a game changer for her and I. Thanks for watching I appreciate it. 🍻

I finally did it. I waited till the end of the video to begin typing. I looked at the original design, and thought "it's gonna wiggle." I also looked at the original setup, and thought the hole needs a cover, or even better yet, a bougie hitch cover would be pretentious as hell in that spot, but fun. Sure enough it wiggled and got a cover.

I guess yall are forgetting that aluminum disapates heat faster & also aluminum radiators are usually bigger in size so more surface area equals more heat disapation.

I did the same thing except with the winch bucket. I made the wings different though. I did not like how the wings angled up so I changed up the wings. I took what was suppose to be the front of the wings and used those for the top. The 1" bottom section I made the front and I welded them so the 1" section was parallel to the bottom of the winch bucket. This made the wings sit low and blend with the bumper well.

My advise is don't do this to your Jeep, it will look fine for a couple of years, after the finish looks like crap youll regret permanently ruining your hood. This thing is a pain to paint or.touch up.

I didn't see what year your XJ is but my 98 has a temp gauge. My sender is in the thermostat housing. So, my idea is that if you need to add a temp gauge, you should be able to use a thermostat housing from a newer model and mount your sending unit (sensor) there instead of cutting into a radiator hose. Just a thought 🙂

Yes but you will need adjustable upper control arms to adjust this. On an Lp Dana 30 moving the pinion up 4.5 degrees is about the max you would want to go, beyond you loose caster. That changes if you were to swap in an HP 30 wich is mentioned in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qqx6Y82KyKyXmas.htmlsi=3xxhJebEsvv9sQsA

@ATEMOFFROAD
@ATEMOFFROAD 14 күн бұрын
Haha my same thoughts, the only thing I can think of is maybe somthing having to do with control arm mount locations on the frame and or clearance problems with exhaust later on when additional Cats were installed for emissions. 🤷‍♂️ best the heck out of me 🍻

@mikeconroy2651

One other thing I don't think you hit on. The combustion air intake is fixed, on the bottom of the new unit. On the old one you would run a hose from it to the outside of, say, your garage, and you would extend the combustion exhaust too. If you are going to use this indoors, and plumb your exhaust outside, you probably want to figure a way to get that combustion air intake to the out of doors. Just so everyone understands, these heaters have two circuits. A combustion circuit and a heated air circuit. So two fans, two separate circuits that have their own individual needs.

My diesel XJ has 3.73's and the HP30 front, but unfortunately generally XJ's came with D35's in the rear here (rarely did they have an 8.25). :( I'll be looking at doing the same mods to the 30 as you are since D44 fronts aren't something I'll be able to find easily here, not like the D44 rears which came stock in all Aussie TJ's. I'm keen to see the progress in the next vid!
@ATEMOFFROAD
@ATEMOFFROAD 14 күн бұрын
That’s awesome, I wonder if all the diesels came stock with 3:73s, would save you over 100 dollars not having to buy the carrier. crazy about all the tjs getting the 44s ,but not the Xjs getting the 8.25. Wouldn’t that be nice if that happened over here. 😂 I won’t be going too crazy with the 30, but should be enough to do most of the trails here in the Pacific North west. 🍻🍻
