Pain in the front of the hip is often caused by hip impingement. Hip impingement is often caused by pathologic forward gliding of the femur in the hip. This is how you fix it!

I've never left a comment on a KZfaq video in my life. But you sir, have saved me. I've had hip pain for the past few years, had MRI's, was diagnosed with FAI and torn labrums, and have been considering surgery. Not once was Anterior Femoral Glide Syndrome ever so much as mentioned by any doctors. After viewing your hip videos, it led me to believe that is exactly the cause of my hip pain. Which led me to search for the syndrome and find multiple articles and success stories of people overcoming their hip pain due to AFGS. So from the bottom of heart, thank you. Without your video, I may have wound up having unsuccessful arthroscopic surgery and still be enduring the pain. I am just beginning my journey to recovery, but I am optimistic for the first time in 3 years.

Thank you for the information! I was a year-long athlete my whole life and had lapriscopic surgery when I was 21 to fix a badly thrashed labrum that occurred as a result of FAI. Four years later and it still hurts about the same. My doctor didn't give me much information beyond "don't flex your hip too much." and I never had time for PT. After initially not finding much information, I'm happy to finally see more on this issue. Especially good to know that I shouldn't do hip flexor stretches so much! I had the misconception that the pain was that "good pain" of stretching out tight muscles, but would always find it made things worse. Keep up the great work!

This was amazing! I’m training for a 50k and had to stop running due to frontal hip pain. I’ve suspected hip impingement but couldn’t find help anywhere on the internet. You explained it all so well and made it understandable for me. This was really an answer to prayer. I just subscribed to your channel. Can’t wait to try these. Thank you so much!!!!!

I just want to let you how helpful this video is. It improved my pain in the front side of my hip joint, which was not really diagnosed by several orthopedic and rehabilitation doctors. Even one physiotherapy clinic did figure out where my pain is from, they encouraged me to do stretches you mentioned in the end of your video, which made me even uncomfortable sometimes... I even comforted myself maybe the pain is a signal of getting better 😢. Thank you so much for this video.

I have had exactly the type of hip pain for exact 1 year now! I have been to countless different types of practitioners (MD's, PT's, chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturists, etc), and have not found any relief whatsoever. I am becoming more and more discouraged, as my pain is increasing as time goes by. I am also experiencing pain in my knee now, as well (medial, front), and I can tell that it is not in the joint itself, but soft tissue. I am at a point now where I am in pain pretty much with any motion at all that involves flexion of the nip and knee (which is pretty much all movement!). I will try these exercises and see if they help. Thank you for this!

First ever comment on youtube on the first channel I've ever subscribed to. Been having impingement like issues after doing squats for the first time. Pain when bringing up knee to chest, pain during tying shoelaces. Pain when I internally rotate my knee. I've just done ONLY the first exercise and immediately did an ATG squat (i know, stupid), but it felt effortlessly normal. Will be doing these daily, thank you and keep doing what you do.

I found your video very helpful, it seems I have this condition, it started after my yoga routine, I have been doing yoga for 15 years, and do the child´s pose and pidgeon pose frequently, as it used to help me with the sciatica and prifiormis. But since yesterday, , the pain in the anterior hip started on the right side. It´s painful, and I am not sure I can do your exercises, but will give it a try. I am putting ice compresses, it seems to help. Got physical therapy and they applied electrode and ultrasound and light massage, would you recommend I continue with that? Not sure it helped. thank you so much

Thanks, Doing the FAI Fix and while a lot of my problems got better with building up the glutes an stretching, the hip flexor stretch made it unbearable, like something would rip apart. Doing the Band strech with a medium band for two days now and it is already better. Bought thicker band, but it is pulling me towards my heating pipe. What about the wall quad stretch? Hi there, After a hip surgery (arthroscopy/shaving) 18 months ago i'm suffering from my hip pain more then ever much much more then before the surgery. My right pelvic is extremely twisted posterior what causes not much space for the femur. Do you have good exercises to solve this problem? Thanks in advance!!
