How to Fix GE Refrigerator Not Making Ice or Getting Water on Dispenser | Model GSS25GSHJCSS

In this Video, We have a GE SIde by Side Refrigerator, Model Number GSS25GSHJCSS, THat Had 2 Different Issues Happening With it. For One, The Ice Maker was Not Working, As Well As Water was Not Coming Out of the Door Dispenser. After Testing Everything, We Found two Things Were Faulty, The Water Valve and the Filter Housing. These 2 Usually do not become faulty due to one issue. We went ahead and Replaced Both and THe Water and Ice Started Working Once Again. I may or may not check back in but from watching this video I grabbed the teeth that rotate for the ice dispenser and made them rotate around after turning it back around and found a piece of stuck ice in there possibly. Hopefully that fixed my problem after turning off water to the house and coming back from out of town.

Hi, my defrost heater broke a couple months ago and now there is frost on the inside of the freezer again. Why would it break again so soon? Also, I had a filter in the fridge for the water and was replacing it but theres still no water coming out the dispenser or ice. They told me the filter was an aftermarket and didn't work. So I took it out but didn't have an adapter so left it empty. Would that have anything to do with the defrost heater keep breaking? Thank you for any help you can offer!

Nice video...however your icemaker could be bad if you aren't getting water to the ice tray. I replaced the valve, and still no water going to icemaker.

@@stevebible1394 I have the same problem Replaced the coil inside middle of frig(water leaking on floor) then bought the solenoid, ice maker still not working. Had new ice maker installed 4 yrs ago, guess I’ll try the filter tubing this time. Did you solve the problem, if so, what method did you use?

What if the ice maker is working, but the water will not dispense? It makes noise like it's trying to work when the lever is pushed. The water filter is new and full of water when removed. Thanks for the video!

First check if the icemaker has any water in the trade if it doesn’t have any water reset the icemaker by pulling the teeth straight up close the door and that will reset the icemaker if it doesn’t get any water after that, go ahead and replace the water valve

I have the same refrigerator my issue is the the ice make is making ice, I’m getting water from the dispenser but the dispenser is not distributing the ice. it makes the noise but no ice will come out.

you need a new ice maker rake/motor. easy to swap yourself. I had exact same issue last year.
