How to fix Honda CR-V turn signal flashing rapidly

The left turn signal in our 2014 Honda CR-V started flashing rapidly compared to the right turn signal. All the bulbs seemed to be working. This video shows how to fix the problem if not caused by a burned out bulb.
Honda CR-V fourth generation: 2012-2016, but applicable to other generation Honda CR-V's too.

Great video. I haven't heard of this issue with just a little corrosion before. I thought it would be 1 of the bulbs were out. Also, you can use a pencil eraser if you don't have a dremel to clean the contacts.

My signal was flashing rapidly so I started by replacing the bulb (2012 Accord). That didn't work but a Google search brought me to your video. I don't have a Dremel tool, which would have worked better, so I had to resort to sandpaper. Anyway, it's working. I wouldn't have guessed the problem was corrosion. Thanks, bro!

This was my problem. My contacts were not corroded to bad so I used nail polish remover and a q-tip on the contacts and the bottom of the bulb. It worked like normal after putting it back in. thank you sir!

Thank you! I have a 2009 Honda Civic. Right directional flashing fast, both bulbs (front and rear) are flashing fast. I am going to try and clean connections. Hopefully, this helps!

Wow I had 0 faith this would work but I took a pencil eraser and rubbed it a bit and boom, it works. Also, I don't think the rear is the same since the rear bulb is a completely different type of bulb.

O don't have a dremmel. What would be a good substitute for that to clean with?

Maybe some sandpaper and a flatblade screwdriver?

Eraser on the end of a pencil works well as a mild abrasive for electrical contacts

@mike_f I actually did something similar. I took a flathead screwdriver and covered it in a thick, somewhat abrasive rag and rubbed the tabs with it. It works fine now.

What if both the front lights are not blinking during emergency lights? Do I do this same method?

Are both front lights not blinking at all? Are both the rear lights also not blinking? You might have one (or more) burned out bulbs.

@@LongologoProductions The back lights we’re blinking, the front lights were barely lit up. But I did your method and it worked! Both signal lights working normally. Thank you!

Not sure. Perhaps broken switch mechanism or flasher.

What can you do about the back bulb?

Try the same process - clean the terminals where the bulb plugs into the socket.

Hyper flashing turn signals are better when driving at highway speed. It makes the driver behind to give way and hesitate passing you. When the turn signal is flashing slowly when you turn on the turn signal the driver behind will accelerate instead of maintaining speed to give way.
