The takeaway I got from the video is that instead of using tape (because you could insulate more than one pin unnecessarily), he ended up removing 3 resistors that were 300ohms each, the last one was the VGH resistor (so I would probably start with that one), and left them all hanging (open). I guess that is the equivalent of insulating pins with tape. He didn't think it was a voltage problem, but a more internal panel related problem.

@@ericg4599 thanks for the reply, i actually tried the tape method and tried to cover the pins on left and right side (not at the same time) but the horizontal flicker line problem is not solved. Do you think it's my panel that has gone bad? I have the 55 inch 4k lg tv.

@@HDgaming345 I suggest to try to keep at it with the tape method, and just keep covering 3-6 or so pins at a time until you get the best picture out of a bad situation. It's probably components on a board that either went bad or cold solder (due to poor quality solder used) on a component based on the common problems these LG TVs have, rather than the panel itself. Desoldering resistors is borderline a desperate measure in my opinion. I have a problem on both the left and right side of the panel. I managed to recover about 75% of the LG TV screen. The bottom 25% is still a problem in my case (flickers, freezes). There's another/more desperate method.... it involves putting the board in the oven for about 10 minutes to deal with cold solders. Not ready for that approach since I can still see 75% of the screen. I can't believe so many people have this problem with LG. I bought my LG last Dec 2018, it first developed a horizontal line on the 3rd year, then another horizontal line on the 4th year. Just 3 months before the 5th year, the entire panel became gray. I think some call it the black/white/gray screen of death, which is why I am now using tape. That's 3 problems in 5 years. Good luck.

Ladalasan naka clip lang nman po yan, gamitan ng hard flat na plastic para panungkit. Ingatan lang po ang screen na wag tamaan.
