I'm currently using a Ryzen 2600 with an ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming Motherboard. I recently upgraded my RAM and I decided to go with a 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz.
So when I restarted my gaming pc for the first time, for some reason my brand new RAM sticks defaulted to 2133MHz. So my brand new RAM is not running at 3200MHz as advertised.
For clarification purposes, this particular RAM is not in the Qualified Vendor List (QVL) of ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming Motherboard. Because of that, I almost RMA this thing but I was able to find a solution to my RAM speed issue. And I would love to share this solution with you guys.
To solve this issue, let's go the BIOS. Let's restart your pc and as soon as you see the Republic of Gamers Logo, PRESS DEL(DELETE) multiple times to ACCESS the BIOS.
From the BIOS Main Screen
Step 1) Go to Ai Tweaker
Step 2) In Ai Overclock Tuner, change the value from Auto to D.O.C.P. Standard
Step 3) In D.O.C.P., choose the correct RAM speed (Actual value: D.O.C.P. DDR4-3200 16-18-18-36)
Step 4) Go to Exit
Step 5) Click Save Changes & Reset
Step 6) Click OK
Note: Let your gaming pc reboot.
If you follow the steps correctly, you should see the right RAM speed now.
To check your RAM Speed, right-click on your taskbar, choose Task Manager, go to Performance tab and choose Memory. Your RAM speed is now set to 3200MHz.
You're good to go!
