How to Fix RAM SPEED Issue | ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E Motherboard | Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3200MHz

I'm going to guide you on how to fix your ram speed issue.
In this tutorial, I'm going to use my ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E Gaming Motherboard and my 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz.

Before we begin, I'd like point out three things that could potentially help your situation.
1) Make sure your ram is in the Qualified Vendor List (QVL) of your motherboard.
2) If you're using 2 sticks of ram, make sure you put it in Slot 2 (DIMM_B2) and Slot 4 (DIMM_A2). And Try to keep your fingers away from this part of your ram because your fingers may contain dirt, hair or even oil that could affect performance of your ram.
3) If you're able, update your BIOS with the latest version.
Despite doing all that, my ram speed is still stuck at 2133MHz.
To solve this issue, let's go to the BIOS. Restart your gaming pc, as soon as you see the Republic of Gamers Logo, PRESS F2 OR DEL(DELETE) multiple times to ACCESS the BIOS.
From the BIOS main screen
Step 1) Go to Ai Tweaker
Step 2) Choose Ai Overclock Tuner
Step 3) Change the default value from Auto to D.O.C.P.
Step 4) In D.O.C.P., choose the correct ram speed (3200MHz)
Step 5) Go to Exit
Step 6) Choose Save Changes & Reset
Step 7) Click OK and let your gaming pc reboot
If you follow the steps correctly, you see the right speed now. Let's go to Task Manager and verify that speed.
Step 1) Right-click your Taskbar
Step 2) Choose Task Manager
Step 3) Go to Performance Tab
Step 4) Choose Memory
Your RAM speed is now set to 3200MHz.
You're good to go!

Cheers mate, I just used this guide. My ddr4 corsair 32gb was running at 2600 by default. It's now at its rated 3600mhz. Hoping for some higher fps!

hello thanks for this video and I was wondering on how to change me MHz more my memory. I have 4x8g of ram for the corsair vengeance pro and I cant get the MHz above 1322. I have tried everything in the bios and when I put the frequency (MHz) up when I reset the pc it cant load anything it doesn't even turn on for the password screen. So I have to go bad into the bios and put the frequency back down to 1322 mhz. BTW the ram should go up to 3200 mhz. I would love for you to show me how to increase the frequency and then my pc can run better.

Hi, thx for your guide. But please help me... I do all due to your guide, but if I click on "SAVE changes & reset", the PC does not boot. (I have Asus rog strix x570 E- gaming, and Patriot Viper 4 Blackout Series DDR4 64GB (2 x 32GB) 3600MHz Kit.

@@sandmancz4756 Yes, I installed latest BIOS. Made sure I used the B1 and B2 slots for my RAM sticks and I also raised the EDC limit of my CPU because I was experiencing instability issues (random BSOD) but this is a 5950x related issue.

@@sandmancz4756 To fix this problem I punched in the following settings manually into PBO: (Main Thing) Set the EDC Current Limit to 200A (Just in case) Set the power limit to 130W (Just in case) Set the temperature limit to 83C (Just in case) Set idle voltage to "Typical" (Just in case) Set Global C-States control to "Disable" (Just in case) Set ECO Mode to "Off" After punching in these settings in the BIOS I was able to turn "Core Performance Boost" back on. I still have a small performance hit from the adjusted power settings but it is not anywhere near as huge as the first method of just turning Core Performance Boost off. It seems that the BIOS on mine and many other people's boards does not know that Ryzen 5000 CPUs have larger peak currents then the previous generations. This trips a sort of "digital fuse" that is set to low. So when changing clocks the CPU tries to draw more current and it hits the EDC current limit and the CPU malfunctions producing the reboots and the WHEA errors. If found this on the internet and take no credit. You can also just turn Core Performance Boost off instead and that will solve the issue aswell but you will see a performance decrease.

i thought that, but *Think* its called XMP on intel chips and DOCP on AMD, but both basically mean the same thing, they are 'out of the box' advertised settings.

What you can also do is make sure your ram is slotted in slot 2 or 4 and set the memory frequency to the ram modules speed (mine goes to 3600mhz so I set it to 3600mhz). Be sure to check what memory speed is supported on your motherboard, i once accidentally set it to 3600mhz when I had my b450-f which only goes up to 3466mhz, now I'm on a x570-e gaming II wifi and d.o.c.p wasn't the solution

Update: got it to work, RAM was in slots 1&3 rather than 2&4. Did it work for you? I have the same CPU and RAM speed as you but it's not working :(

ram should be lower than clock speed of the CPU and you need to check the highest value supported by your mobo

Similar issue when with 4 dimms. 4dimms Don't work at 3200mhz.

I have the same motherboard and 16 x 4 16gig sticks of corsair vengeance Pro and the mother will boot with 2 sticks but not with 4??

@@FrankLomas I fixed it.. go into your bios with 2 sticks installed, disable the xmp profile then shutdown your system and install the other 2 sticks (so now you have 4 installed) then boot into the bios and enable your xmp profile.. it worked for me, let me know

what motherboard do you have? what cpu do you have? it can be that your cpu/mobo only supports up to 2133mhz

If you have this motherboard maybe you installed it wrong. This is from the manual ibb.co/Gpk3n5V where b1 is closest to your cpu so you know the orientation.

Try this... Check if your RAM Model is in your motherboard's Qualified Vendor List (QVL). If you're using 2 sticks of RAM, make sure you put them in Slot #2 and Slot #4, and reseat them properly. Update your BIOS with the latest version before enabling DOCP.

Each memory will use the half of the speed. Its dual channel. 1600x2=3200mhz.

It is fine, ddr stands for double dat rate meaning it does two transfers per mh the common way of saying ghz referring to memory is actually twice the clock speed.
