Hey Tampatec, Subbed you. I have this same problem on an SP-N4253 Caps are also bulged. Just wondering what the max capacitor size to replace with versus what they had stock. I've got a few heavy duty mother boards with some pretty big capacitors on them and thought about swapping in some from them. Yes, I'm crazy..... Thanks.

Hey Tampatec - great teaching vids! Just getting around to fixing my un55b7000wfxza which turns off and on after the cable box was hit by lightening. TV was plugged into a Monster strip and didn't realize the cable installer hadn't plugged the box into it, reason unknown. What is the MOST likely problem? If it's capacitors, great, but I can't source a video board so trying not to waste time and money. Thank you millions in advance!

I have a Samsung 50in Plasma that clicks, Found a couple bad caps 2200uf 25v,in the power board, I also noticed at the top right corner of the board, just above this really big cap "250wv,470uf, that their is 3 resistors that look slightly burnt. Should i replace them ? Light green in color with a Brown,Green,Yellow, and Gold stripe. I think they are 150K @5% resistors. but dont know the watts. Thanks. The video is way too dark though. But all I needed was to figure out why my back cover wasn't coming off, and you said TWO screws. I only took off one. Missed the other, too dusty I guess. My capacitors look fine though. But I probably will have those replaced as preventative if I can get this working.

Great video. My Samsung plasma is doing the exact same thing. It is clicking and the red light flashes when I plug it in. I cannot get it to turn on. I thought for sure I would open it up and find blown capacitors, but all of them look perfect. Are there any other signs of bad capacitors? Do you think it could be a different issue?
@hamfitness863

I had the same issue with my 52" Samsung TV, you can hear the relay click and red light blinking, but it just turns on and off on an infinite loop, never stays on. I checked the main power board and noticed two 470mf 25v capacitors were bulging so I replaced those, still problem persist. I then replaced the entire board with a new one and still the same issue, so this tells me its not the power supply board, unless the new one is also bad. Any other possibilities? I know you mentioned T-con board, but isn't the t-con board just when you have display problems not actually powering on issues.

These guides were certainly what we have going on with our 60 inch Samsung 3D plasma TV, it's now unable to turn on except for the cycling constantly. We have checked all the capacitors and none look bulged BUT one I saw did have what looks like elmer's white glue covering from bottom up most of one side. Does that sound like it's a bad capacitor? Everything I saw had black oozing but this is white. The ends are not bulging as I said before but this is coming from the bottom. Would like your opinion.

hello, I have just noticed last night a loud clicking noise from my TV when turning on and off - other then this everything seems fine, it turns on/off without delay but the loud single clicks worry me! this tv is 4 months old , model 46f6400 samsung. my other tv is also a samsung, an old 32c530 that is really quiet when doing the same operations. is this click normal? haven't noticed it until last night? should I contact samsung or the seller about this? is this a symptom of malfunctioning capacitors?

Samsung died a few weeks ago, clicking. Did some youtube searching and found these videos. Spent 30 dollars, got a cheap soldering 25w gun, ordered some Panasonic 25v capacitors to replace the cheap dead Samsung 10v. Did a horrible job soldering since I never did it before, and the solders are super tiny. Burned my finger once. Said "best I can do" when I think it was good and put it together. Came right back up and working like new. Simple fix (I wouldn't say easy unless your a technician" but its simple as pie. Hope TV lasts another 5 years.

Looks like I came to the right place. I have a 50 in samsung plasma 720p. I am getting the clicking sound from the center panel. On your'e video at the 1 minute 10 sec mark. If you look at the 2 copper coils, just below them is a little black box about inch in length and a 1/4 in width. I have isolated that is where the clicking comes from. As for identifying "bugling" capacitors i am not sure exactly what my issue is. If you can respond with some tips i would much appreciate it.Pheonix

Wanted to know if you had any idea for what could be my problem. I have a 72" Samsung dlp tv (HL72a650c1f) that I bought in 2009. Had the on/off problem, so I replaced the lamp first. That did not solve the problem, so I ended up hiring 2 technicians to some what fix my problem. First guy stated it was the digital board (not so), 2nd guy fixed the on/off issue by replacing the power supply and ballast. However, now the picture does not have the color red in it. Fired them and I have been researching all dlp issues on the net (nothing like my issue yet to be found). Found some one selling the same tv with the on/off issue, so I purchased it for parts. Swapped out the entire light engine but removed his ballast for mine and presto, it worked. But now after a few months my new problem is its turning on and off again but this time I can hear audio and after a few attempts the screen comes on but within seconds the color fluctuates and on and off cycle continues. Any idea how to fix both issues? My old tv with no red in picture and my new tv color changes rapidly and then no picture to just audio and back to the on and off cycle...

I've got a customers TV that does this, but the relay is clicking once or twice, then it takes a break for a little bit. I'm also getting the standby light to flash 10 times. I've already checked over my capacitors and they don't appear to be damaged. I ordered a power board repair kit from shipjimmy with fuses, relays, IC's, etc. I'm not sure what I'm missing. I don't have a way to check the capacitors using a multi-meter (my MM is cheap college grade).

My Samsung has a similar problem. The light doesn't flash on and off but I hear a clicking noise. It is a very faint noise and it usually happens when my tv has been on for a few hours but then after a while it stops clicking. Is that normal? Also dl you live in the new York City area? And how much would you charge for fixing something like this if it needs to be?

I have a Samsung PN51D550C1FXZC (plasma) that turned itself off last night and started to exhibit the clicking sound (the relays on the power supply board) which is followed by the standby light blinking but the set never turns on. Should I replace the caps on the power supply board (none of them are bulging nor show any discoloration) or should I just go ahead and replace the board (pn BN44-00444A). This set is less than 3 years old. A couple of caps on the Y-Main board have some yellow stains on top but that is the only anomaly that I can see. None of the caps anywhere are bulging.Thanks.

unplug tv for 1 minute to reset tv, but bad caps are common fix, check for 680uf, 1000uf, 2200uf, 3300uf 10v or 25v test em out of circuit or just buy power board at shopjimmy.com , but if you have about 190 dc volts on "Vs" pin and 5v or 3 dc volts on power board its should be fine next look at Y-main board it goes bad sometimes too. Sub if this helps 8^)

I didn't replace the capacitors because I wasn't sure about their capacities and couldn't find additional information, however, I noticed the capacitors were glued to the board with some kind of foam. What I did was unglue them with a knife (just cut through the foam between the capacitor and the board, I DID NOT unsolder anything) and then reposition them as they were before, only this time they were not glued. I don't know if it had anything to do but since then the TV has worked perfectly, not even once has it turned off again. Maybe the foam was causing some kind of overheating? I don't really know, but it did the trick. Hope this works for you.

I think they either got a bunch of bad caps, or thiere is a spiking issue at my house. Although I dont believe that is the case... judging by the number of crap samsung tv reports out there. Hopefully this does the trick... again... =( I will post my finding as well.. You can already view my 1st

Hey, my Samsung tv's red light is staying solid whenever plugged in, no blinking red light. A power surge had happened and of course, it wasn't plugged into a brick so it just blew out... Please help!
@TampaTec

solid red "standby light" 1st try unplug tv powercord for 5 minutes to hard reset TV, main video board or powersupply might be bad so check for 5dcv or 3.3 dc volts it should be labeled on the power board. if 5 volts are there it maybe bad main board look for burns or any blown fuses label on board F101 "F"202 ect..- call to get correct tv parts 1 (877) 881-6492 / (952) 881-6492

Hi I have 4 caps bad 2ps 10v and 2ps 25v should I change all of them to 25v ? Thanks in advance
@TampaTec
@TampaTec 10 жыл бұрын
yes that would be smart cause if a 12v voltage spike goes through a 1000uf 25v caps it would handle that v-spike but 1000uf 10v cap would get hurt. just make sure 25v cap fits in circuit physically.

Where can you get those capacitors ? Is that something radio shacks carries
@StrongManMattt

+Carlos Chavez maybe, I just got some on amazon.
@eolsunder
@eolsunder 7 жыл бұрын
just order them from amazon. radio shack I think is going out of business I wouldn't buy anything from them. Get some great Panasonic capacitors which are excellent, costs like 9 bucks for 4 from amazon. Easy. 15-20 bucks for a solder gun and you usually can fix your tv for 30 bucks and some work.
