@@RLaraMoore it's a pronounced area of muscle/fibers/fascia tightness and pain. It can also produce swelling and can be noticeable to the touch, although not always. Some may feel rounded and some may feel like bands, more narrow with length. They're also referred to as trigger points or adhesions. Some involve more than the muscle, including the fascia and other connective tissue.

Thanks so much for these targeted exercises. This took more like 30 minutes and it was completely worth it to feel as good as I do right now. I've been in severe pain and am now able to breathe with very little discomfort. For anyone in pain: Use this video and stop it doing the reps and alternating sides. Both sides are in pain even if you don't notice it because you've been compensating without realizing it. The benefits come from taking your time and really following each step.

I spent all day at work in severe pain from my trapezius muscles and by following along with this video I was able to eliminate a lot of the existing pain. literally cannot express how much I love your videos, so helpful in my daily exercises and stretches!!!

I can’t thank you enough for your videos. I tweaked something in my right side trapezius muscle working out. I tweak this muscle more commonly working out than any other muscle. It can really be debilitating when this happens. So thank you for sharing this. It really has helped. This and the hip popping video have been my favorites so far.

my life saver! thank you for posting this - I just had an MRI a week ago for right shoulder pain (dr thinks rotator cuff tear..) but I realized today that my trapezius on the right side is big and protruding and the left is not! dove into YT and found YOU. Did the exercises, and already I have relief!! so again, thank you

Having played the cello professionally for 50 years with decades of sitting relatively immobile, my neck, traps, levator scapulae, and who knows what else are extremely tight. This video is helping, especially the massage of Sore points and the overhead stick stretch. I'm adding shoulder circles, forward and back, and lots of Yes, Nos.

Never injured over 40 and still training like or even harder like when i was 20yo hence traps pain and mild joint discomfort even on the healthiest diet ever are coming to my life... Hell yeah! This work immediately from the bed on my left side trapezius which is been giving me a wicked time for the past two weeks. My doctor put me on meloxicam but it really didn't work on traps. Thank you.

Just wanna say thank you for uploading this video. This is such a beautiful piece and how you play it is amazing! My 9yo started to learn this as it will be her exam peice in May and sice I did not have the opportunity to learn music or play any instruments when I was a kid, I am not a great help for her when she stuggles with a few notes to play them right :( but thanks to your video she is able to nail it and keeps progressing 🥰 thank you!! ❤

Thank you. This is helpful and thoughtful. I have damaged shoulders and neck. At 60yrs. I have had numerous injuries over the years. Worked overhead for many years as a mechanic and plumber. Builder and welder. It has taken a toll.

*WOW!* That last variation on the Y shoulder shrug against the wall where you actually drive your arms back away from the wall was a game changer! Definitely going to incorporate these into a daily routine. Do you recommend stretching first, doing the exercises and then stretching again? Or which order exactly? Years of suffering with trap & deltoid pain, even driving, became a problem. Stretches have not dealt with the issue, long term...The key is to strengthen the muscles. Thank you so much for these exercises... life-saving 😊

Hi. So I went searching today to try to find some thing to help me with my issues in the trapezius area. I have a occipital neuralgia and I had decompression surgery last year. It helped the back of my head, but I still have very tight, trapezius, muscles and muscles on the side of my neck. I came on today to try to find some thing that possibly could help. I also have a hemifacial spasm on the right side. I’m hoping that if I can loosen up these muscles that it’ll help everything. I will keep you posted, since this is only my first day. I would give anything to have the tightness and pain go away. Also, I just went through testing with everyone from neurological ophthalmology to pain doctors. For years now I have a constant pain pressure in my eyes. I have been told now that it’s probably residual pain. I know when I have the trapezius and neck spasms and pain. The eyes get worse. I do not want to take medication and I’m hoping this will somehow help the eyes as well. Do you have any other suggestions of other stretches? Please let me know. Crossing my fingers. Thanks.

Now i know what is the area called where i get the pain - trapezius muscles. I wonder why my doc mentioned that i had shoulder impingement when infact i have pain exactly near the neck area. And it only hurts when either i am sitting for too long by looking exactly in one direction or when i'm lifting or doing pullups which involves trapezius muscles.
