open the screws below the iphone then get a knife and open the iphone. be careful and open the phone screen at a 90 degree angle

If you hold the power button and the home button for like 10 seconds it'll do a hard shut off. Don't worry it won't wipe your data. also I know I'm late lol

I don't think hair drying it, especially with hot air, is a good idea. Doing so creates steam which can damage the internal components of the phone more. But hey if you got no other option I guess it could help, just be mindful of that

Good point, steam happens above 200 F (actually 212F/100C). Heating it up to barely be able and to touch it is about 125-155 F. Steam is bad, but this is a dry heat evaporation drying technique. Dry heat is amazing. In fact, I fixed the desoldering of the video board of my 27" Mac using dry heat. The Apple manufacturing uses a hot solder, liquid metal glue substance that looses its grip from the heat sink being so close. Putting only the video board in an oven preheated (I am serious) to 410F/255C, for 10 minutes, then let it cool, then put everything back together, worked. I saved $980 repair job and $440 part price minimum cost. Just had to get new heat sink glue, screen removal plunger and about four hours time (saving minimum of $110 an hour and really it was $238/hour ($980 minus $25 for glue and plunger tool). ALRIGHT IF U DONT GOT THESE TOOL THIS IS WHAT U DO. So u go on fortnight or any game that runs 60FPS and play the game for 10-20 min and your phone would get hella hot and that’s the best way to get it dry fast AF 💨

Next time you drop it in water put it in rice I've done that with my iPhone's many of times I've only owned one and I did drop it in the sink full of water the LifeProof case glitched out and caused my phone to flood I put it in rice for 3 days that helps me it was still on so I had to Power It Off

once you go that far you might as well have ultrasonically cleaned it, then it would be far less likely to have issues due to the electrolytes left behind from the liquid. better than nothing or rice though!

Hi I have an iPhone 8, last month I fell into the water, San Francisco baysalt water got in, when I fell and got out the phone was working, I got home and it didn't work, left it in rice alone until yesterday, 1 month almost, surprisingly the phone turned on and charged completely, worked like nothing happened, today in the morning I check it and again it doesnt turn on. I dont know if its fixable.

If you already took it apart before it unseals the water proof adhesive and that’s what happens I put my iphone7 underwater for 30minutes and it still worked!

I dropped my phone in the bath (don't ask how) and when I took it out everything was fine but later that night I tried to charge it and it wouldnt charge. What I did was I kept sucking out the water from my charger port and now it is charging :], I suggest to do this if this happens. I will also edit this in case it stops charging again.

I repair phones as a side gig and I know for a fact that heating up the phone until it is too hot to touch is a bad idea. It can lead to permanent battery damage as well as slow down your phone.

I fell into the pool and my iphone was fully submerged. Just letting ya'll know the hairdryer trick worked. I didn't have to open my phone. Just make sure the phone is switched off before you use the hairdryer.

To the people that got their phone in the toilet or in a water, And lost the volume or when you press the volume butoon it says headphones. ME TOO I found a trick you have to press the POWER BUTTON AND HOME BUTTON TOGETHER until you see the apple logo. Now you need to get a cutip/cotton buds and get out some of the cotton but leave some to absorb some little water (if it still have) and then get the cutip and put it inside the earphone place and play with it while doing that you should press the volume button and it will say RINGER if you see that your audio is fixed.

I have 5s and i dropped mine in toilet and then i was like freaking out and took it out and then i dryed is with towel and it was fine first there was nothing on the screen but some minutes later a bright thing showed up on my bottom screen and it got bigger and bigger and bigger but the phone was working perfectly normal and no there were no problems then it got much bigger but a little faded and also i told it to my mom and she said its fine and tried to dry it with hair dryer and then it got dry and yeah now im using that phone but the bright thingg is still here to should i wait for it to be gone? And dissapear

Future tip if you guys dropped your phone in water, immediately put in rice and make sure is fully cover, let it sit for 30-45 min and you should be good. Rice has dust that will suck the water out without harming your phone

this is a myth , while working for att they told us to tell everybody this, after testing and gathering people's experience it was a complete lie. best thing is to remove Mobo and imerse in 91-99% isopropyl alcohol, just the mobo. not the battery, screen or anything else.

if your lucky enough that your water resistant phone (not waterproof) still works. use contact cleaner to disperse the water, avoid getting any on the screen, you will have to replace the screen if you see water visible on the display. give it a good soaking with this and tip it up to get it out. It wont damage it. then use a hair dryer to dry the remainder of the liquid. Rice does nothing. if it already wont turn on then you need a qualified repair business that can replace components on the main board or just buy a new phone. But remember as far as i know the Samsung note 9 is the only phone that"s advertised as water proof. this guy is very lucky if he has no other problems.
