This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops,and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba,Lenovo, and Samsung).

After installing everything, the computer ran out of power and the password would not take. I even thought about resetting again, but could not get the prompt to troubleshoot, so this helped with that too. Thanks a bunch for this!

.. it still says its incorrect .. edit: after changing my password through microsoft on my phone and it still not working i choose to just reset my PC. my laptop is super slow so i rarely use it anyway, its just getting rid of my wallpapers and colorful settings.

my dad was screaming at me because i cannot sign in to my computer, he was supposed to fix the laptop but things happened and i was really panicking at that point and i thought i would never ever open the laptop again. I'm glad I came across this video. Today, I had the same problem only with a PIN pre-established and the system suddenly asking for a password. I followed your instructions and it allowed me to, once again, use my PIN to enter. Even after all these years, MS still hasn't resolved this Windows 10 issue. Thank you.

Luckily I knew my security answers so I was able to just change the password. This really did piss me off though because I was certain I was typing the right password for a good 40 minutes... man I was going crazy 😅

step 1 - Hold shift then left click restart step 2 - Left click on the trouble shoot step 3 - Left click advance options step 4 - Left click on the startup settings step 5 - Left click restart step 6 - Select f5 or f6 and f7 step 7 - Sign in again step 8 - Then restart your computer step 9 - And sign in again.
