Absolutely great video! Just had this issue out of random on a pretty new controller. Xbox warranty is a joke.

this video is really helpful! i found a short in my board by plugging in both the motherboard and daughterboards together, then running 5V usb. you can use a thermal imaging camera or use your fingers to find where it gets hot. on my controller, the board which houses the d-pad buttons has a short, somewhere in the U3 chip. hope this helps!

would ever wanna make a video considering how to find continuity between buttons without the schematics of the controller for people wanting to remap their controller buttons?

kzfaq.info/get/bejne/muCbmcJi2tmZomw.html Check the clear plastic sensor and the black box that is located in the front of the mouse is present and not broken. That can be the cause of your scroll wheel not working.

Mine broke a year ago same issue (nut turning on) after i verrified every component and all was fine and today a year later i found that the firmware could go bad on these, found a good usb cable, conect it to the pc a foud out that all it needed was an update and now is working again😮 😂😂😂😂

What kind of wires are used (like what size) i search online and ill i get is what kind of wire you use to charge the controller rather than internal wiring

if i get a motherboard from an old controller and i just connect it to my controller will it work?

Yes as long as the controller board is the same revision, like they have original xbox one controller and one from xbox one s make sure you don't mix both

Me fixing it, would cost you as much as buying a new controller, only worth fixing it yourself.

You mean the stuff I used to join things on the circuit board? If so that is call solder, it melts at high temperature, and when it cools it like metal, but soft.
