Yet another one of those annoying things that seem to always go bad after sitting for a long period of time. Today I take on fixing the battery control center that is responsible for charging the chassis and house batteries. It's a simple fix that anyone can do!

I have the same RV, I have always had problems with keeping the battery changed, I always thought driving it changed the batterys , and I thought I had a bad converter, I'm thinking now it may be the solenoid , OK yesterday went to start it ,hit the to battery switches by the door and it started up fine ,drove it around no problem,. TODAY, went in hit the switches ,nothing , turn key not even a click, so I charged all batteries, still nothing, the head lights work and radio but that's it.Do you have any idea? Tks Rick,ps. So everything checked out good, Converter & Alternator. Someone told me a good check on the alternator could still be causing my battery to drain/ draw off it, so I'm getting a battery kill switch to hookup to my negative until I solve the issue by checking all the wires hooked to my positive. The previous owner has 5 wires hooked to the positive post. I have to figure that one out as to why so many. Any clues to this would be Appropriate. 👍

Hey, thank you for sharing! We have a 2004 bounder also, we just had a blow out on our left rear inner wheel, it looks like a few of the wires in that wheel well close to the inner tire have had their insulation stripped , the wires themselves appear uncut but obviously have been hit by the tire. After the blow out the interior lights worked fine but once the tire was replaced, we drove it 100km and now we have zero power to our interior house (lights microwave etc…) our voltage to our house battery is not showing anything, no number just blank? Do you have any idea of what could be the issue?

Wiring is tough, I would start in that area where the tire is then double check fuses..

Fantastic, I have a 98 bounder and mine needs looking at as well. Now I have to ask. Did you say that there is a solenoid in the box that controls power going to the genny to start it? I am having a hard time getting full power to mine to start it. Subbed
@SouthernGinger
@SouthernGinger 4 ай бұрын
That battery is what cranks the generator, and the solenoid is what clicks over to charge the house batteries when plugged in. I've never had an issue after this fix to charge my batteries

How did you get your solenoid out?? We’ve got the same problem and have a new solenoid ready to go. We’ve been working on getting it out for hours. Can’t get the bottom busses bolt off to pull the solenoid out. Is there a better way to get it out?? All ears.
