Hi there, just wondering how the electrical stuffi s working in winter with possible snow/ice/water over the deck? Is it holding up well without any leaks around the electrical connections? thanks
@MarkPrangerАй бұрын
After changing out every component on my water heater with no fix to my issue. I tried blowing out my gas line as you did. I put everything back together and Light the pilot, turned on the valve and the water heater fired up and ran perfectly. I still don't get why this worked, but it did. Who'd of thought.

How does the rain water run out so the wood does not rot?
@SouthernGinger2 ай бұрын
Runs off the far end, that's why I made sure it had a slope, where you could add a gutter if you want to as well
@nathanburk16602 ай бұрын
looks great! How did you seal the parts that had to be cut around the diagnol bracing? I am running into this issue now because my deck has a 1-2 foot cantilever so some of the bracing is in the middle of the panels. I'm not sure how to seal it without also causing blockage from the water flowing past it?
@SouthernGinger2 ай бұрын
Like on the sides? You could add something there on the sides if you want but on the end you wanna make sure the water gets out, through a mesh or something

I just bought a camper for pernamant living 3 weeks ago and found out my sons room slide out is rotted. Its a flush slide out and ive watched so many videos but I feel like I cant do this job myself but I have to. I cant afford to hire someone and its just my 4yr old son and I. This video was helpful but still looks like the mechanics of the slide are different as yours stays sitting on top. Mine comes up from flush and in. Its a small slide, maybe 5ft but feel like I'm going to screw something up!
@SouthernGinger2 ай бұрын
Do you mean the arms are coming from below? If so my RV is like that too. That may mean you need to pull the rotted wood from the top and not below like we did
@chrisdevalcourt64818 күн бұрын
Whatever you screw up I'm sure can be unscrewed! Take your time. Watch the videos. Have all the tools. Get help if you need it. A helper is always good. Think it through. You can do this! Can't never could! The confidence, satisfaction and knowledge you will gain will be a blessing. And you will save some bucks! Go for it!

SHOW US HOW YOU WATERPROOFED THE JOIST ?? The best way to prevent rot is to ensure the wood never gets wet. This can most easily be done before the decking boards go down during construction. First, shield the tops of the joists and beams with waterproof flashing tape. There are commercial butyl tapes designed to be the right width for this purpose. With self-adhesive tape, the application is relatively easy. Additionally, by applying joist flashing tape before screwing in hardware, you can create a barrier between the fasteners and preservatives in the wood that lessens corrosion. Thus, flashing tape protects in two ways, reducing corrosion and waterproofing the top of the wood beams and joists.

That battery is what cranks the generator, and the solenoid is what clicks over to charge the house batteries when plugged in. I've never had an issue after this fix to charge my batteries

The tie rod suspension arms are definitely after market too I just haven't identified what they are exactly, probably AEV... Your orfice was probably plugged. All the replacements you did were a waste of money. The orfice just unscrews. use compressed air or a tooth pick to clean it out. You should NOT have run compressed air through your gas valve, it can damage it. Spiders love LP and will build a nest inside of the orfice. For anyone watching this, Check you orfice FIRST.
