Definitely going to wear them syncros out fast already got sloppy shifter.

If your car has synchro's, you might as well just use your clutch. Really no point in doing this, just risking excessive synchro and gear wear.

Why?

If you were actually floating the gears the shifter would just fall into the next gear without any resistance, that pause when you are pressuring the next gear is the synchros doing their job. You will cause premature wear to the transmission by doing this. Don't do this if you care about the longevity of your transmission, and there is really nothing to be gained. Semi truck transmissions are way different than what you find in passenger cars and can be floated without wear when done properly.

it is crazy how long clutches last i had a 2011 jetta i bought with 30k miles and sold it with 180k with the original clutch and i was a delivery driver all in the city stop and go, and id get lazy alot and shift without the clutch, but ive always assumed with synchronized trans its bad to shift without the clutch

i wish i could do it with my civic a mechanic told me not to but it will do it you just passed my wife we always called it speed shifting because always using the throttle to move threw the gears see ya in the next one

Huh always thought this was just for when your clutch breaks in combination with jumping the clutch switch to pull away on the starter. I wonder what the actual balance between gear vs clutch wear over the transmission life is.

The shifter is so worn out from you forcing it for years

Or just learn how to correctly use your clutch and you can avoid prematurely wearing out your synchros

How come you did not demonstrate power shifting so you get a chirp from 1st to 2nd .

Do you use pelican headlights?

I like to wind out first and then go into 3rd. My 2nd gear is a little bitch. She likes to downshift into her but she doesn't like me to float up.

I only float in my tractor or if my clutch is out. 😂

I’m a master on the semi truck 18 speed. I still can’t trust myself to float the gears in my Honda.

Whats great about EVs is most have only 1 gear. A few BEV simis have 2 but most 1 ALSO, you can operate the vehicle with 1 pedal. Dynamic braking crates a heavy load and causes the vehicles to decel when you let off the go pedal, So Sweet. !
