Whenever i fly i think of me "pushing up" in the air my imaginina air pushing me up and from there i fly as you expect. And you can choose go how fast you want to. From traveing from your earth to another universe fast

Flying in lucid dreams has always been effortless for me. My subconscious never got the chance to believe that it's difficult. Shooting up really fast, like you mentioned in the video has never destabilized the dream for me, personally, and has never had any "render lag." Is it possible you're only experiencing that issue because of past experience creating subconsious limiting beliefs that reaffirm themselves each time it happens to you?

That wouldn't surprise me, as these kinds of things happen to so many people, myself included at one point. I just jump into the air, wherever I am. Ceilings, what are those? Lol.

It doesn't necessarily destabilise the dream when I do that, but it certainly can and has on a good number of instances, particularly if I'm shooting up at the kind of speed where the houses are basically dots in a couple of seconds, which is what would often happen when I first started out. If it happens I just continue into another dream, but I've found that slower more controlled flying tends to be consistent and reliable whereas faster travel does run that risk. Of course, your mileage may vary!

Flying comes easy to me as well. I just stretch both arms and know that I will fly. It’s my most often used mode of transportation, with Spider-Man web slinging and creating portals being honourable second and third place.

Tbh my experience with flying looked like the matrix universe in particular seraphs lesson. I can lift off but I would liftup further and further uncontrollably.

Try pulling yourself down with your mind as soon as you start to take off, to balance out the uncontrolled ascent, that works for me!

My flying experiences are always so impactful and extremely beautiful-the way Minecraft flying looks is really accurate but can’t capture the feeling of clarity and wind on your face and the feeling of weightlessness. Just astounding. I have been using a running start to begin floating upwards.

I have however been able to teleport. helpful to the landing part of flying I suppose, simply decide "nope never mind im on the ground" and suddenly its so

ive stopped using my feet now when I lucid dream. I can only fly on accident, but when trying I can at least kinda glide around. I lean forward, kick my feet back, and glide around, as my feet kinda drag on the ground behind me lol. the methods that have almost worked for me is to imagine tiny foot platforms beneath my feet and thus manipulate said platforms around as im standing on it, another way I used to try is by tensing lol. like a Chris angel style, stance, the more I clenched the more ide fly, which got me off the ground for a half second and I sank back down

Definitely try mind flying (as I call it) if you haven't already, and trying to will yourself up a little higher if your feet are dragging on the ground.

@Tipharot word thanks I'll try that out! It seams as though this is a muscle, or whatever I'm currently using is. I have to strain and use more mental effort to hold myself higher, as it seams I'm locked into the height I'm at when I lean forward to glide

@Tipharot on the nights where I do it by mistake, it's instead instinctual, and entirely dependant on the quality of my awareness. I had a truly bafflingly euphoric and philosophical dream that had me elated, soo much so that with each step I realized I was raising into the air, and was being helped up by this golden Pilar of light. (Wonder if said Pilar directly is my elevated mood, causing said flying)

Do you spend a lot of time with video games or things of that nature, where the main character is seen in third person? Do you imagine yourself doing things, and if so, do you imagine yourself in the first person or third person? Do you ever get lucid? The MILD technique IMO is great for things like this. When you are rescripting a previous dream, rewriting it to imagine that you noticed that you were dreaming, thus getting lucid, and doing what you want, you can imagine yourself doing these things in the first person. If you are lucid, try imagining what your senses are experiencing, so sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. The goal is to perceive yourself in the first person, as it is through how we perceive experiences that our dreams are controlled.

I second what @SkyfallBlindDreamer said about MILD, any form of visualisation before bed can help with this - focus the visualisation on your first person experience, and I find it helps to really pay attention to what you imagine yourself _feeling_ - both in terms of the sense of touch, and also your emotions as you're experiencing yourself become lucid and going about the dream.

That sounds fun - does the opposite work for you too? Taking a big deep breath in, to be able to float up further?
